Having had a gander on the various "socials", my thoughts on the posts i've read is that they are overboard on this one as they were dismissive of the team in the 2 away League defeats and the home League win against Boro.

Brilliant 3-0 win but it could so very easily have been very much different. They had 2/3 possession and greater territorial advantage than us. Despite them being a goal down at HT, they had been the better side. We had 17 shots to their 13, 7 on target to their 5. Zetterström had 5 saves to make, their keeper 4. Some great blocks, some great saving tackles/challenges in the box. Our 1st half set up helped them play their game and I can imagine they will be miffed they didn't score in the first half.

Wonderful strike from Kenzo for our first. Should have scored earlier when put clear by NML. It's one of those shots where I always say "give it some air". Even going back to King Kev, how many one on ones have we seen where a low, hard shot has been saved by the keeper's outstretched foot. The keeper is going down, making himself as wide as possible, leaving a huge space above him. The same direction with the shot but 3 to 4 feet off the floor and it's in. The other shot he took when Yates was clear to his left was another case where he ought to have made a different choice. It'll come. It's these little things that turn good players into better ones. Kenzo is good. He will get better.

2nd half, they needed to come at us so we got more space with our 33% share of possession. Two more good goals, hit the post twice. Overall, the perfect away performance... at home.

Based on that performance, those on the bench will stay there. The newbies will have to bide their time. Especially in away games.

A better set of forwards would have seen us concede. We ignore that at our peril.

We're only 4 games in. 2 home wins and 2 away defeats. Slowly seeing a pattern to the play. We are going to see a lot of countering from the Rams this season. Over the course of the season I expect us to get a bit more expansive but not to the extent we did 2nd half at Blackburn where we ended up getting sucker punched 3 times in 15 2nd half minutes.

The opposition thus far? They currently sit 3rd, 5th and 7th and yesterday's opponents went into the game undefeated and in 8th place. Not a huge sample of stats but it's all we have and they are, so far, satisfying. We are currently 9th. Happy with that but not getting carried away.

Well put and a few observations from me - 1) Zetterstrom's distribution wasn't good, not sure why Warne clapped him for hoying a clearance straight out in the second half. 2) Although our throwins are almost as clueless as ever (City's were worse!), the hump and hope throws along the byeline are now being won more often with forwards who have learned the technique of heading on. Collins was very poor at it, appearing to make himself lower with his feet off the ground than on it in a way I've not seen since the last days of Les Green. 3) The midfielders all have an identifiable 'style' to their play on the ball. whether that's of any use in absolute terms I don't know, but its nice to watch (in a winning side, maybe not if we're getting beat)

    Enjoyable afternoon. Warne Out lol

Thanks for that MA, I didn't go but similar to what my eldest had to say about the game. As I said earlier the perfect 'away' performance but if that's what we have to do to get a foothold in this league then great. A steady start to the campaign, time now for the manager and players, especially the newbies, to use the break to prepare for the autumn grind where tons of points will be battled over. COYR

Djurgarden 3-0 down after 25 minutes at Malmo and keeper booked. Good job we only got the starting GK. ☺️
