It’s not right v left, Ian. Labour heartlands voted in Boris because they wanted Brexit done. I was hugely impressed by Labour voters for the first time in my life because they voted for democratic principle rather than ideology. The country decided by referendum and the people wanted the government to carry out what they’d been bloody well told to do by the people.
You see Unionists and Republicans marching together for a common cause in Northern Ireland too - it’s quite an eye opener.
Unfortunately far, far to late we discovered the lies upon lies that were told which persuaded most to vote for Brexit.
I for one am ashamed of myself for doing that against the arguments of my more sensible three kids.
I must point out that I wasn't influenced one iota by that stupid, misogynist, untruthful, racist, adulterous, Boris, who I totally despise.
Note that Bore-arse was an adamant remainer until he saw the personal benefits to him if he changed sides.
Michael Heseltine summed him up perfectly saying, he hides in the bushes until he sees the way the crowds are going, then runs to the front of the crowd shouting follow me.
It is also worth a mention that if a referendum was carried out today, it has been estimated that the vote would be roughly 60/40 in favour of remain.

All politician lie, Pat (amply demonstrated by your new leader with the cold weather payments).
I’ll go further. We’re seeing more and more evidence of a ‘divide and conquer’ strategy by the political class in many countries around the world. They’re delighted to see common folk like you and me bickering over politics while they get fat. As soon as their lifestyle benefits are threatened they close ranks, independent of political views and work together.
In Brazil, the ‘power behind the throne’ keeps giving us 2 extremes to vote between for President when we are crying out for a third, less extreme option. (You could argue it’s the same in the USA). I’m convinced it’s a ploy to divide the people and maintain their power.
We need to wake up and see that our ‘enemy’ isn’t someone with a different political view to you, it’s the political class as a whole.
I think you must be referring to the triple lock to which he has always been in favour of and stated it would remain, and I 'm sure there was never any other reference to other payments, such as the winter fuel allowance, which is still to be paid to the most needy, unless you can specifically quote otherwise.
Myself amongst many thousands of others will lose it, but lets face it, in most cases it's another bonus if you aren't desperate.
