Chances are you’ll have 20 games in a season without a striker on the bench and 3 games without both of them.
    Agreed, it's not his fault.

However, keeping him as our main back-up was down to Eddie Howe rather than the board.

It depends on decision making process in the club.
Does physio has any say in it? Can he have a meeting and say he expects Wilson to miss 9-10 games a season and not 20?

As I see things right now for NUFC physio and fitness coaches should have some say in recruiting - like “we are thin in CF with our injury record, Burn and Schar can last an entire season, no need to bring Guehi”

Fact is that the last two seasons keeping Wilson has caused more harm than good.

He played like 1/5 of last season, and has already lost 1/5 of this season...

Waste of time and money. He should be moved on in the next window.

Tbh, we would have been better off by keeping Wood and let Wilson go...😂

Agree in principle but the practicality of the scenario was…

We wouldn’t have sold him in last summer because him and Isak rotated fantastically well, and Wilson scored 18 goals in 31 league games… getting us into a CL spot.

We couldn’t have sold him this summer as he was still recovering from injury.

I agree his fitness is a massive issue, am sure he’s gutted by it more than any of us are… this is the tail end of his career and it’s become an injury f**king nightmare… but given money concerns we won’t be able to go out and bring in the finished article, so the club really need to pick their targets well and beat off any other clubs going for the player… and still any replacement is going to be a gamble.

We really need to be giving Osula some time on the pitch, no point in running Isak into the ground for ever decreasing returns over 90 minutes, and any experience is better than none. I’d rather he’s had some time before the run of Forest/West Ham/Palace… even if that means some time against Chelsea and Arsenal.

There’s no guarantee Wilson will be back for those three games, where we HAVE to perform and do well, but if we run Isak into the ground in the next 3 games (Chelsea/Chelsea/Arsenal) and he gets injured because of it, or he’s just struggling for energy by the end of games… we are going to need someone to come in… becasue as long as I have a hole in my a$$ Gordon is not a striker.

Its not the first time I've thought this innthe past year. Just never wanted to admit it. Like Joselu was a vastly under rated player and doing well now.

Wood looked good yesterday. Attacking the ball in the 6 yard area - something he rarely did for us.

Hes banging them in for Forest again toninght 😂

We should have sold Wilson for top dollar and kept Wood. Easy to say now, but thats the price of injuries. Not really taken into account at our club.

He's only played 6 games in the whole of 2024 I saw today.
