Ok I've got an apple Alexa whotsitmacallit but to me it's still the radio. I do actually have a small radio on the kitchen window sill.
It wasn't a dig, I just genuinely haven't used a radio of any kind for 10, maybe 15 years. I wouldn't be able to name a single active DJ if the stations I knew of then are still going. I have speakers around the house driven by an app, and my phone automatically drives what I'm listening to in the car, be it music, podcasts or audiobooks. I can't think of anyone i visit who has a radio playing when I'm there... genuinely thought they were as good as obsolete.

I didn't take it as a dig pal, if my reply came across as that . I could proabbly put my hand on at leat 2 or 3 more radios tucked away in the garage or cupboards somewhere.

Yes, Apple play in the car is a great app to use. I sometimes use this when I want to listen to an obscure radio station, I wouldn't have been able to use through the radio settings in my car, due to geographical location ie; Retro Soul Radio from London.

I honestly don't think there are any in the house at all, maybe the Sky boxes still have radio on there as channels...?? Roon in the house, Roon Arc, Poweramp or Tidal elsewhere... and Tidal covers anything I don't have in my collection.

Back on topic, and the Christmas playlist gets thrown into circulation whichever day the tree goes up.

Talk about cheapening Xmas, it's all about making the fast buck and nothing at all to do with festivities like we all knew as kids.

    Rant over ...............
Here in the US, Costco had some of their Xmas stuff on display before we left for our last visit to England. That was on August 7th
