The heating pipes were laid due to the depth being taken off the pitch to re lay the new one, which made sense as hopefully the new pitch won't need much work on it in the future. A boiler will have to be ordered when they do decide to connect it all up & I think it was said the process would take about 6 weeks to install

I hope they filled the pipes with fluid to test for leaks before they buried them.
How will they decide when to connect it all up?
    Premier League compulsory.
    Championship - don?t know?
Will have been false economy if we get a home game against a top side in the third round of the FA Cup and it gets frozen off.
To my mind we should have either done it all or not at all.

So you don't think we should plan for the future? It made sense to put the pipework in while they were doing all the pitch work and I don't think for one minute that they would've buried the pipework without testing it first.

You can do a pressure test with the pipes underground, but it is inconceivable that it wasn't done before they buried them. That said movements can cause leaks so they would just fill them with water and check the pressure doesn't drop.

If we drew say Man City at home and had a potentially frozen pitch a would it matter if it were postponed as I am sure it would be a sell out on a Tuesday evening (and possibly more likely to be on TV). If it were, say, Crystal Palace or Southampton, where we may not sell out on an evening, then you can rent boilers easily enough. They come on the back of a lorry with a fuel supply and everything. You connect them up to your pipes and away you go. They cost plenty per day to rent, but if you only need one for a day or two much more cost effective than buying and installing your own boiler. I'd hope that if we put the infrastructure in we consider this possibility if we needed it.

The trouble comes, obviously, if we rent a boiler for say a big match against a Premier**** side and then don't use them a week later against say MK Dons or someone. They may not want to set a precedent.

Apparently the same thing is happening with the monorail - tracks being laid but actual carriages and stuff ordered later.

I thought we had the monorail but there was an issue with the track? Something to do with the boarding platform handrails at East Midlands airport (it was raised last night on the Fans forum I believe?).

Yes, they should plan for the future. And I am sure that they must have tested the plumbing?
But when will be the right time to finish the job off?
They can't decide that it is going to be frosty next week so we will do it now.
    Championship? Premier League?
Probably when there is nothing more important to spend the money on.
I just don't like half finished jobs because often they don't get done.

It won't be frosty Saturday anyway.

They said at the time they were future proofing and whilst winters have been relatively warmer recently if there was a forecast for an extremely cold winter then that?s when they would do it.
