Following the disappointing performance the week before against St Helens the Mighty Trin put on a superb second half time performance to leave the score at 30-10 before a late score gave the home side a little more respectability.

Every squad player 1 - 17 put in a high quality shift to really show that we are not going to be easy team to play against. In glorious weather we defended well and at times looked razor sharp in attack. I was really well chuffed to have been at the game and seeing their home supporters drifting out of the stadium long before the final whistle made the journey even more worthwhile.

2 wins in our first 4 games both away from home is a good start as we get used to being back in Super League. I will stick with my prediction of finishing 8th but who knows could we make 6th spot and and make the play-offs.

A Challenge Cup game at Huddersfield this Sunday gives us an opportunity to having a good cup run and dream of Wembley!

Some key players we should also be welcoming back from injury over the next 2-3 weeks, competition for the shirt could get interesting.

    Up the Trin!
This is undoubtedly the best Trinity team I've seen in my 43 years watching us Chop .

The way this team are opening teams up is fantastic to see , the skill set is extraordinary , I'd say along with Wigan we are probably the two most entertaining teams in Super League .

You never get too far ahead of yourself of course but 5th or 6th place is definitely on in my opinion and a good run at The Challenge Cup too starting tomorrow .

Well that opens up the Challenge Cup with Hull pulling off a sensational win at Wigan last night , they were 22-6 down at halftime and came back to win 22-26 in a pulsating second half display , well done Hull who haven't had the greatest of times in recent seasons .

Assuming Leigh beat the Batley Bulldogs today and hopefully Trinity can get through at Huddersfield this afternoon I reckon 6 of the teams remaining will all fancy their chances of lifting this famous old trophy .

I'm off to the John Smith's Stadium this afternoon and hoping to see us progress through to the last 8 .

It won't be easy despite Huddersfield losing all four of their Super League games so far .

Hull proved last night that anything is possible .

    Betfred Challenge Cup

    Huddersfield Giants 12-22 Wakefield Trinity

Well that's Trinity safely through to the last 8 after a tough battle at the John Smith's Stadium .

We were down 12-6 at halftime but turned it around second dig and got the job done against fellow Super League opposition .

Absolutely delighted with the start we've made back in Super League .

Another tough game coming up on Friday night at home to Acido's Hull .

What a frustrating night at Belle Vue on many levels , frustrating because I thought Trinity threw the game away , frustrating to have 3 trys chalked off by TMO , frustrating that we made errors that allowed Hull back in to the game .

It's become pretty evident that Wigan apart that there isn't very much between at least 6 or 7 teams below the Warriors in Super League and Trinity are in that group along with Hull .

However you can't make errors that allow teams such as Hull piggy backs up the field and they scored two second half trys on the back of the penalties we handed them .

We should have put Hull out of the game in the first half but a combination of good Hull scrambling defence and Trinity not as clinical as of late and we only led 8-6 at the break .

Hull hung in there , showed resilience and earned themselves two very good points and you take what's on offer which is what Hull did .

Trinity are a very very competitive Super League team but we aren't the finished article either , if we were we'd have won the game last night .

I can't disagree with any of those review comments, Animal. 👍 🏉
Some Wakey and Cass fans have been telling me that they think we/Hull look like a much more competitive team this season, and harder to beat.
And that's exactly how I look at Wakey as well, that they are not the team we've been used to seeing for the last few years.
There might be the odd heavy defeat which is fair enough, but it's how a team then bounce back. And I think we've got a much better Coaching set up now.
And you know when that feeling starts to come back, you start to look forward to your sports teams matches again, rather than dreading them.
A bit like we're doing as Barnsley Fc fans right now!!. 😩

First 30 mins we should have been out of sight with enough points on the board, but a bit of bad luck including a couple of tries chalked off and the referee and linesman continually allowing Hull to encroach the 10m line which allowed Hull gradually to get back into the game. Second half, a good old arm wrestle and the best team lost.

Sezer who did nothing at Leeds continued his fine form and was the difference between the 2 sides in creativity. We certainly missed Jowitt and Trueman in an attacking sense.

Hull certainly far better than last season and having watched them 4 times this season for sure they are much improved but by the end of the season could well be below Trinity in the league table.

Two more tricky league games coming up for the Mighty Trin away at Leigh and St Helens and a Challenge Cup home game also against Leigh will all be tough encounters. Sadly I am away in the Far East now on a biz trip so will miss all these 3 games, probably will have to revert to the telex machine for updates!!

Well that biased little pro Wakey, and anti Hull review, certainly did make me laugh Chop. 😁 🏉
But yeah seriously, it's certainly the sort of match we've been used to losing for a few years now.
Where we've kept it tight, but just a mistake here or there has cost us a defeat, by about 6 points or less etc!.

Btw Animal and Chop (because nobody else posts on this thread lol), what on earth is going on at the top of the League ?.
Leigh keep on surprising me, and great credit to them. But as for Hull Kingston, they are still on an unbeaten 100% record, in 1st place, wow!!.
I also say a very begrudging well done them as well lol, and hey that's hard for me to say as a Hull Fc fan. 😉 🏉

Best team currently in Super League are KR although it's better to be the best team in Super League come October which is why it doesn't really mean that much with only five rounds played .

However as good as Mikey Lewis is I reckon one day he's going to cost KR big time because of his petulance and that just might be in the biggest games post season .

He was lucky to stay on the field against Trinity the other week when young Oli Pratt smashed him legally , he didn't like it .
