Stats? Possession 50/50. Shots 11/11. Shots on 1/6 and we hit the bar.

The Elder penalty. That should have been retaken as their keeper was well off his line when Elder struck the ball. When your luck is out, your luck is out.

I saw enough of Daj last night to think he should start against Watford. Good hold up play, Laid the ball off well. Took a lot of hammer from defenders. I have more faith in him than I do in Yates. Kenzo had a very good game. Harness looked good on the ball, however, when looking to tackle an opponent he is all too easily sent the wrong way. CBT was ineffectual. NML OK in patches. Ebou was asking for a card from the moment he came on and got his wish. Cash back at the weekend which is good with Nat P having a calf problem. Ossie back too.

Am I worried? Absolutely not. In essence we've had 2 poor games in the last 12. Other than that we've been in with a shout most games. What we need is a striker who scores regularly. That could be Daj but I don't think PW will start him all that often. It isn't Yates, period. That means we pin our hopes on Salvesen or whichever striker we bring in this month.
Didn’t watch and didn’t particularly care tbh so thanks for the report.
Getting excited simply because a win would have brought the Champions to PP and an exercise in likely embarrassment is probably an indicator of how far we’ve fallen.

Hope Elder doesn’t get loads of stick as seems to be the current fashion. Even the very best can fail from the spot and he’s been a relative success this season.

Am I worried? Increasingly so I’m afraid. Confidence and form are fading. We’re on a bad run and success, even against a moderate L1 side who we easily beat last season, would have at least helped the former.

Our relegation rivals have mostly taken steps recently. Whether they’re right only time will tell and I’m not about to indulge in some sort of witch hunt, but I suspect anything less than two points from the next two games and the shouts for change might become irresistible. Clock is ticking on this season and two poor performances leading to defeat will, imo, prove terminal.

I was unable to watch until extra time last night and it was noticeable from the radio commentary that passing and crossing were a constant issue and so it proved in ET, along with basic control. PW cannot be training the players to be that bad, it’s a mystery to me. No criticism from me of Elder for the pen or otherwise, he was one of the better players

Looking more generally at our chances of staying up, I’m starting to feel net negative, and based on performances thus far I think many of the new influx of players has made our squad worse - Jackson Harness Yates Osbourne are all demonstrating why they were being cast off, Goojmin jury’s out IMO, Chirewa cost us points, IMO we’d be better off with Korey Smith still around the place FGS, and many are pinning their hopes on Ozoh who looked ‘ok’ a long time ago. And what’s happened to Adams, defo not as effective as last season, getting booked too much and his distribution is awful

Good form breeds confidence. Orient went into the game with a record of 9 wins and a draw from their last 10 games. 7 games in December saw them win 6 and draw one conceding NO goals. They are currently 8th but lost their opening 4 League fixtures (5 of the first 6 League games were defeats), since when they've been doing very well indeed.

    We've won 1 in 11.

    Says it all, for me.

We need a striker, have done since the start of the season, there is a reason Yates was loaned out and one thats obvious.

However, rather than look at the results and think doom, I don't see our poor run of form and indeed luck continuing, we will be reet!

These things are par for course in our position. Unfortunately, I think we just need to suck it up in these difficult times, because ultimately we're in the best position we've been in since Cocu on the field, with probably the worst group of players since Phil Brown was in charge, recovering from a financial H-bomb.
The knives are out for Warne. I don't think he's our best long term option, but he's perfectly capable of keeping us up, and halfway through the season we are in a good position to see that through.
I don't think getting rid of him will help, as the new manager would need a magic wand to turn this team into anything better, and they'd be doing it with a smaller budget after paying Warne's compensation.
Losing to an in-form team only a league below away from home isn't a shocker in a cup match.
I don't fancy our chances Saturday though.

They only managed a draw at Cardiff last night.
