Beginning of season, yes. But now? Would suit the Bros to turn a profit but from Crowley's point of view MKD would be an add choice now. If I were him I'd be looking at the next level at least. But, of course money doesn't talk it swears.

Would be surprised if we sold to a direct promotion rival. Would not sit well with fans, imagine if they got promoted with DC making a notable contribution and we did not.

I'd say Dan would be the driving force
In those circumstances it's not sensible to hold onto a player who wants to leave
So it's probably best to get a bit of money to use for incoming(s)
We'd drive a hard bargain though I''d guess

Promising Everton forward Charlie Whitaker has joined us on a free transfer.

The 21-year-old has signed a six-month contract to take his first steps away from Goodison Park, which has been his home since the age of 12.

He arrives in the East Midlands as one of Premier League Two’s most potent goalscorers, having hit the target seven times in nine appearances either from attacking midfield or out wide this season.

Whitaker’s arrival follows that of another attack-minded player in Will Jarvis, with director Richard Montague seeing many similarities in the qualities of both players.

Montague said: “Charlie is another young, high-potential player who we’ve been monitoring for some time.

“While we think he’s best suited to central attacking areas, he’s versatile and comfortable playing out wide.

"Charlie has demonstrated a genuine goal threat throughout his youth career and has the technical ability, pace and tenacity to be a real handful.

“The short-term nature of the deal suits all parties at this stage and we’d like to thank Everton for their cooperation.”

Dan will not leave for MK in Jan, if he goes it will be league one - owners are not stupid. Also Dans already seen what MK have to offer in that soulless empty stadium, makes no sense he?d force a move there when he?d get a better paid contract at a league one club in summer.

So just contracted until the end of the season? (six-month contract to take his first steps away from Goodison Park) Wonder if we have got options to extend if he turns into something special? Or is it a loan contract? First steps doesn't sound very permanent to me?

Charlie's is described as a signing, Zak's is described as a loan.

So I expect Charlie is off of Everton's books and both he and Notts are looking to see how things are at the end of the season as there may be a number of uncertainties:

    1) Fitness/injury
    2) Coping away from home
    3) Seeing which league we are in

I read it that he knows he's going nowhere at Everton and wants to explore other opportunites which may involve us. Zak is here on a path to improve his starting chances at Sunderland.

Both are interviewed on the OS: https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news

The "weed growing" lamps are in view in both interviews. Wonder if they are just protecting damage from frozen grass as the forecast is for the freezing to end.
