A great result today and the club is on the up so happy days
But on a human level it's hard not to feel for Josh Martin

Agree that Martin was doing better and he goes with my respect, but I can't see how you can conclude that we have downgraded

Bloody hell, this is like trying to get blood out of a stone!

Was it Jarvis you were on about, just say yes or no.

He mentioned on another thread that Whitaker looked sharp in training so by process of elimination I'd say so.

Be pointless comparing him to a defender.

Martin only started playing well when it was time for contract renewal. Early on in the season he was awful, it's not match fitness he gained as he hadn't really played that much so either at the beginning he wasn't motivated or he is only motivated for a new contract. With that in mind, probably best to pass

Feel bad for Martin, he was just starting to find his feet. He looked a much better bet at no.10 than Grant, who really has to start showing something of note soon surely.

It's a bit of a shame really as I felt Josh Martin was beginning to establish himself at the club after coming into the side recently and performing well. As you and others have said against Cheltenham he was excellent and also I recall he put in a great through ball for us to score in a recent home game.

At 23 I think there is the potential for him to do a job for a club at this level so good luck to him on finding somewhere where he can settle and hopefully establish himself.

How many games has Grant played as a No.10 for us? We have got to stop writing players off after a handful of appearances.

On a separate note, I see that Gordon is now the mystery injury. Mind you, Sam Austin has seized his chance superbly, which is exactly what you want from the squad.

I didn?t mean to appear like I was writing him off?.at times he has shown some nice interplay and speed of thought but his actions are so far never really impactful, which isn?t great for a no.10. I?m not sure how many times he?s played that position, it won?t have been many with Crowley fit or because of his injury I suppose so maybe now with a run of games he will start to settle into the side a bit better.

Football is pretty ruthless though and if one of the new guys comes straight in and does make an impact he could be struggling for game time in that no.10 role again.
