That would be the opposite then of general life discrimination nowadays where most white souls are up against it getting a fair shot.

Coached? Who says they have been coached! 😂

Sure, I know some of these terms are an overkill! Well, XG actually makes me really puzzled, they just count how many great opportunities a team created. Low block is just a defensive startegy and yes, Micah does make a lot use of it. ?Second phase? is when play starts emerging from the attack again after it has hit the core of the defense. I did not know that ?Transitions? means what you just said ? when a team loses the ball and the other in a haste attempts to go forward. Inverted full-back? In all fairness, it?s simply a full-back who has transferred into the middle of the park and performs like a midfielder. ?Recycle the ball? which is a phrase often used is simply gaining the ball back and distributing it around. And ?goal involvement?? Actually it refers to any player directly or indirectly involved in an act of creating a goal, not the creator only.

Yes they are just copying the US. Zone marking and press both evolved into UK football terminology from basketball.

Goal involvement, its goal and assist contributions combined.
JCH is our top scorer with 6 Goals, but Nombe has 9 involvements (5 goals and 4 assists).

Recycling the ball is not winning the ball back, it is keeping possession and trying something different. i.e. try an attack down one wing, and instead of putting in a cross as only 1 striker has bothered to get in there and is surrounded by 3 defenders, you keep possession (sideways and backwards), and try to attack a different way.

Our XG will be poor as we have plenty of shots but most are off target.

"He's a top, top manager." Does he become more impressive according to the number of "tops" he collects? I mean how many "tops" would Sir Alex Ferguson have got?

"He's in the building." Why have managers started saying that when it just means they've signed someone?

Football is a simple game. Creating all these fancy new terms doesn't help but I suppose it keeps some people in jobs.
