Something wrong. Defensively we were all over the shop. Effort was poor and mindset of the team doesn't seem right.
    Agree with that summary.

Player on touch line Roberts lost it with that lunge now suspended well done lad. He his a liability at minute.
Yet again we continue to create our own problems.
A massive opportunity missed in the last three games when we could have really consolidated in the top six.
We are now 9th and pitched about right dragging our feet in this transfer window.
Defender and Striker required with a week to go.

Some of our defending was absolutely woeful at times and I mean truly shocking. Ball watching, flat footed and uninspiring to say the least. Kids stuff. At times, I find it difficult to believe that some of our defenders are professional footballers- its the basics they get wrong and they do it time and time again. We've had this defensive garbage for 18 months now. When is enough enough? The board are responsible

It was a stupid lunge by Roberts too for the red card although I wouldn't personally give a red card for that. However, it is the modern rules.

Phillips miss was a bad un, so too Earl from the set piece at the beginning of the second half. Golden chances wasted.

At the end of the day we got deservedly beaten by a more cohesive, organised and harder working side. Their manager plays to his squads strength. We don't, it's as simple as that.

It was a valiant effort with 10 men but let's be honest, the game could've been over by then anyway.

Having read the above comments am glad that my personal thoughts of our display last night were generally similar so not just down to my apathy surrounding Barnsley FC.

First game I have watched since November and probably the worst I have seen us play as a collective group barring Killip and the shot on target from Russell in my living memory.
Our back 3 defensively looked as though they were playing together as a unit for the first time and just hoofing the ball forward and most of the time just finding a Wycombe player. Gent poor lad looks as though he needs to start eating Weetabix and get in the gym. Midfield I had to keep asking myself who is playing, laughable it was halfway through the first half Connell and co trying to play some neat football in our penalty area nearly resulting in us conceding a goal. Upfront woeful but then virtually no quality service given to them. Watters looks like he will be out for a few games the way he walked off.

Wycombe were not great but deserved the 3 points. Thought Josh Scowen had a good game.

Rant over we move on, but we need to get back to winning ways quickly and make up for the lost ground due to this run of 3 defeats.

Their second goal, however many times have we seen that? It’s like Groundhog Day.
There’s a lot calling for Clarke head but I think if we would have the pick of any manager I don’t think they could turn this squad of players into a winning team, there’s no strength, pace or threat and when the opposition realize that we become easy prey.

Better organisation AKA the Duff era would be helpful but there isnt any of that on show. Clarke is responsible for that!!

I didn't watch the match last night , to be honest I just can't find the motivation anymore .

Clarke doesn't help himself but the problems are way deeper than the HC .

If there was competence on Grove Street perhaps they wouldn't need to raise working capital by issuing new shares every 6 months .

Having given things more thought I am somewhat disconcerted with the players that we have brought in during the last 18 months. Barring DKD they are not up to standard, even in this division. The board are clearly the ones that are holding the club back by chancing time and again on substandard players. It catches up to you sooner or later. The chickens will come home to roost.

Criticise Clarke all you like (the people who turn a blind eye to the owners responsibilities) but he is the one with his hands tied. Same with Collins last season. It's sad to see the gradual decline of Barnsley FC.

Those of us on here with our eyes open saw this coming. We are now a mid table league 1 club, no doubt about it. I'd be really shocked if we finished top 6 this season. We're not quite good enough to make it- that's the bottom line and the reason for that is recruitment both player wise and head coach wise. I feel sympathy for each head coach that we appoint. They are on a hiding to nothing and expected to make a silk purse out of a sows ear here at Barnsley. Never gonna happen is it, not with substandard players in the squad and poor signings. It boils the pyss doesn't it.

Not only that, the club is losing 8 million quid per season. It's wreaked of failure from the start hasn't it. Blame Conway, blame whoever, but things are not changing, they're getting worse just as predicted by many on here in the last couple of years.

I'm not saying this because of our last 3 results, I'm saying it looking at the bigger picture as a whole, because this season has been poor in general. Last night epitomised that. We were beaten by a team that have a far lower budget than ours and are a good example of what can be achieved if you get the right players in, the right head coach and combine them as a whole. Good luck to Wycombe, they have my best wishes in terms of how their season pans out. I hope they get automatic promotion. Fair doos to their lads. They work hard and laik to their strengths.

We, on the other hand have flattered to decieve this season haven't we. You can see in glimpses of what we are capable of, but the fact remains that we are inconsistent for the reason and that reason, I've already stated.

Ennyrooard, make of this post what you will. I trust my knowledge of football.

Good post Pass to which I agree with most of what you say, personally I do think the current owners are an honest bunch with honourable intentions but from day one they have shown to be completely out of their depth , they are simply none football business people who I cannot for the life of me work out what they want to achieve , I do not know what they are doing here and as I say I believe they are good honourable people but I wish they would move on and find buyers who had an ambitious plan or an ambitious direction in which way they wanted to take the club and spell out to the fans what exactly they want to achieve , currently we are drifting with no apparent plans of where we want to go or what we want to do , I find it all rather puzzling !!
