Lack of ambition comes from the man at the top who said it doesn't matter what division we're in - shocking statement from someone without a football brain.

I come from the angle of reality and, as a humble fan, as long as this lack of ambition is prevalent at the club I've no choice but to accept it. I'm resigned to the prevailing mediocrity now.

The man who made that statement is a major problem for us. What happened to the McCowan money, and the Celtic European money? I suspect that he has forced Docherty's hand with penny pinching. Too late now. I would imagine that he feels that it is easier to run a championship club.

Dundee Football Club made a loss of ?2.8 million when they were last in playing in the Championship in the 2022/23 season.
Their wages and salaries were 106% of their total income for the year ending 31st May 2023.

You might remember when James McPake was appointed manager in June 2019 Nelms stating that it did not matter which league we were playing in.
Nelms probably gets the same lavish salary whether we are playing in the Premier League or Championship.
In my opinion Nelms needs to forget about his fantasy new football stadium at Campy Nou and concentrating on running Dundee Football Club to the best of his ability which includes having meaningful discussions with all groups of Dundee FC supporters, not just the DSA.

I think John Nelms is running Dundee FC to the best of his ability.

It's his lack of ability to effectively run a football club that's the problem.

    FFS don't criticise him.

The game is nothing without glory Deeranged, I probably won't see another cup win now so every single minute chance of glory is clung to for as long as possible....the procession of a league bores me rigid at times.

We already as fans write off 6/8 games a season, not many are interested in the LC and now the Scottish cup seems to be going the same way. Sad.

We only seem to there to facilitate Celtic, rangers and hearts entry into Europe.

Can't get excited about selling players I've never saw playing either.

we should be well on our way to securing our Premier League status for next season.
Conversely if we lose them all then we will be in big trouble and facing the possibility of finishing in the Play Off position at the end of this season as we will be a minimum of 5 points behind Ross County after these three games.
It is also possible that we could finish in the 12th position at the end of this season and be relegated as St Johnstone would only be a minimum of 3 points behind us if we lose the next 3 league games.
    What do other posters think.
    I made a slight typo.
The St Johnstone game is at home.
    Sorry for the error.

Amazingly there are still posters on the Dark Blues Forum who think that John Nelms is bankrolling Dundee Football Club.
Normally the directors of a professional football club make funds available for the manager to sign players during the January transfer window but that does not appear to have happened with the Dundee Football Club board of directors.
Think the situation is that the losses are supported by the owners.

Up to now the losses have been supported by the majority owner Tim Keyes but if he has stopped absorbing these annual losses then players will continue to be sold with the first team being filled with loans from other clubs.
I would not be surprised to see Luke Graham being sold in the 2025 Summer transfer window.

The money we received for the two young 16 year olds wasn?t much, maybe add ons are inserted, but it?s not a huge figure, again selling LG won?t bring in any amount of serous money, he?s about 14th choice centre half at dens just now, the signings in January have been appalling, to bring in two young players from Mexico (one couldn?t get on bench yesterday) on a relegation battle, and not bring in experienced players is baffling, Murray is knackered every game at 60-70 minutes?..

We sign a left back in January, the first choice left back goes off with cramp, we then replace him withi a defensive midfielder and put the more creative midfielder to left back?..

Docherty does make some really strange in play decisions.
