True, but it was a worryingly poor performance.

All the clips I saw of Traore before he signed was of him running onto through balls or cutting in and firing off shots. It?s unfair to judge him when we?re playing crab like pensioner football, same goes for Jarvis. He was signed as a forward/winger, he?s clearly not a wing back, just like Cal Roberts wasn?t. We have forgotten how terrible he was in that position because of how well he initially played further forward.

As some others have said, we seem to be banging square pegs into round holes at the minute. I know we have a philosophy, but like the old saying goes, there?s more than one way to skin a cat. Literally the one ball from deep we played last night resulted in a goal, and we didn?t once try it again, seems a bit daft to me.

It was indeed but it was just one performance.

If you had not seen a single Notts match this season and only last nights you aren?t rating anybody bar Abbott and maybe Bedeau as anything other than a very average or poor performance

What's the betting when JJ is fit he will be played on the right where he is less effective?

He started the season well on the right with goals and assists. We can?t ignore he had a great season on the left till teams starting doubling up on him. Can we claim SMs totally wrong when JJs played his whole career on the right and I remember him absolutely ripping us a new one playing there for Cov and bagging in a Hatrick.

JJ played his whole career on the right but not as a wing back.
There is a massive difference from where he played for Coventry against us on the right to where we are now asking him to play. It cant be ignored that his best career stats were last season on the left.
The signing of Jarvis is a strange one if we are insistent on playing wing backs.

Agree to the certain extent, as for Jarvis, Cal Roberts etc the issue with the Wingback is the complete Wingback is an absolute rarity and even more so at this level so your either playing a full back there or a winger and both have their restrictions, the positions there to keep width and get another midfielder in.

Jarvis isn't a wingback, its SM that is wanting him to do what he cant..

I was at that game at Coventry where he ripped us a new one, and I don't remember seeing him much in their half. When he played in our half, he was a threat every time he had the ball.
