See Jarvis play for five minutes it's obvious he's right footed.
That late bombardment at the end was at least something that still gives me hope for the run in

He needs building up and gets knackered on 70 minutes like Tommy, but he has the potential to emulate him. Donning tin hat now.
I think most of us can see that Jarvis has ability
His problem has been application both here and at Hull
If he can get his head right he could be outstanding
As I've said before, it's up to him really

If you ask yourself the questions: 'is he clearly a skilful player?' 'does he do a lot of running?' 'does he have a decent finish on him?' the answer to all three is yes, but somehow that doesn't translate into many goals and assists.
sounds like he needs match experience; maybe he's a loan candidate? But we're forced to play him because we're low on options

I think that's correct. He needs to find a level, however low, where the goal and assist production can flow and get his confidence up that way, to at least know what that feels like.

Otherwise, he's a very dangerous player to have - trains well, looks good, works hard, technically good - one that a coach will keep picking, despite the very low actual production. It's 'good' players like that who get clubs relegated.

For us this season the damage might already be done. He's played enough games/minutes with low goal and assist returns to have cost us a fair few points, through the opportunity cost of having a different player there who would have produced more.

I was thinking exactly the same but about Charlie Whitaker.

My Dad always said Tommy needed to get a few steaks down him!

Steak Diana's no doubt. (for younger posters the reference is from Dave McVays book and is something to do with Jimmy Sirrell's eating habits.

Surely a reference to the mundane answers given in player profiles in the match-day magazine ?

From what I remember I'm not sure discussion of Jimmy's eating habits would be allowed pre-9:00pm threshold. But it is a must read for ALL football fans, not just those who support Notts. [The other must read im(h)o is All Played Out - Pete Davies's account of Italia '90]
