I actually thought we looked good in attacking phases yesterday and moved the ball around okay.

Defensively though we weren?t great. Their goal was obviously very poor and in the first 10 minutes we looked all over the shop. I think our goal settled us down.

Speaking of the goal it was another fantastic strike from DKD. I fear he?s going to get a lot of interest in the summer.

As for the coach, I think it?s hard to judge Hourihane with the squad we have got available right now. It sounds like he is working very hard behind the scenes. Hopefully that will transfer out on to the pitch and in results before the end of the season.

I was going on the general consensus from supporters on social media that seem to think it was poor with little or no change from Clarke.

Animal - I don’t think Hourihane has a cat in hells chance of getting the job - especially that we have seen no bounce in results.

As far as the young players - Neerav is desperate to get out of this division because it’s costing him - if young players are good enough, and let’s hope they are - then they will be in.
If not then other players will be brought in.
Neerav has said that a couple of players will be sold.
IMO our biggest asset is one of the young players - Fabio.

As for my early post being a wind up.
As previously stated on numerous occasions - I do not do wind ups.
I can see some of my views could be considered left field - but they are genuine opinions.
And for those accusing me of doing wind ups then I can only consider them to be hard of thinking.
Evidence if evidence was needed - my earlier post generated discussion.

That save from Flavell was unbelievable. Fantastic agility and reactions there. Couldn't believe he pulled it off.

The club, both on and off the pitch is obviously in a mess. We know why. These last few league games, especially with the injuries, is a great opportunity to play young uns and give them that taste of experience that they require.

I'm with Animal and think we should appoint Hourihane.

A new HC will be appointed - probably from Europe.
They will bring in 1 or 2 of their own coaching staff.
There will be a clear out of most of the other coaching staff presently at the club - but the club will insist that long term servants Devaney and Hassell remain.

Why some supporters want Hourihane as HC is beyond me.
He has no credentials for the job whatsoever.
Being a good player a few years ago doesn?t make him a good HC now.
There can be no sentimental favours when millions are at stake.

The next HC will have proved themselves in previous jobs - and will have shown that they can implement the way that the directors at Barnsley want to play.

So what you are saying is that every Hc anywhere in the game had all proved themselves at previous jobs , amazing !! that no Hc had a first job , its a good job that John Dennis gave Danny Wilson a start with no previous experience otherwise we would never have got in the premier league . It is obvious you have got a downer on Hourihane which is fine but you have no evidence to say that he cannot make a fist of it , you prefer this continuous repeat and rinse approach from our owners who sack a HC and others at great cost to the club and then we pay lumps of compensation to another club to bring another HC and all his support staff , it is costing us ? millions , no wonder we have spiralling debts and you know the best thing about this is that when the new HC hits a sticky patch you and cartloads more will be calling for his head and this lot of numpties will oblige thus taking the pressure off themselves and we start again with more cash been thrown down the river . It is time for a different approach , lets take a gamble , what have we got to lose ? give Conner the gig and if he fails so be it but it will at least buck the trend that is failing and you never know it might just work .

I'm not sure if I want Conor to get the job to be honest, for various reasons.
Maybe another full season for him as the assistant, to somebody else. Let him keep getting the experience etc, for now.
But this run of 10 games was/is a good time to give him a chance at least, and see what happens. 👍

Not a chance of top 6 next season. Av said it to thi afooar, we'll be relegated to league 2 in the next 2/3 seasons. The decline of the club under this ownership is clear for all to see and the last 2 interviews with Neerav have only served to enhance that.

You could well be right Pass , the gradual decline is a worry and Nudgers suggestion that Neerav and his buddies are investing is simply not true, it is true that they are putting millions into the club but that is to cover the mis management that is actually shipping the brass in the first place.

Jeez !!!
That?s a very twisted view of reality on how things are in football right now.
Without the money going in then Barnsley simply would not have a football club.
All football clubs are on the hamster wheel - it?s unsustainable - but if an owner chooses to step off that wheel then that club is at real risk of folding.
Let?s hope Neerav keeps the faith in the club.

And these wanting new owners - what they are really asking for is someone to come in and put even more money into the club.
To return to a time when Barnsley?s recruitment consisted of trying to out bid other clubs for players - and more than often losing in the bidding war.
Thank God the club has moved on from that.
