Never heard of him, of course. No idea why people are so effusive about him. Hope he is fantastic. Time will tell.
few fans would have predicted that to be fair. Our recruitment under RM seems to be characterized by extreme highs and a few perplexing lows. Traore was the expensive Jan signing, asfik, and probably has the most challenges settling in. Same recruitment model as Jatta, very different kind of player. Obvious skill set: rapid, good touch, forward thinking... but I'm still not sure what he's going to look like when he starts hitting his marks.

I think you're are all missing the point having played semi-pro goalkeeper in Italy he's obviously a back up for Slocs Miller and Bass. Benvenuto to M L hope you've got some hidden gems ready.
Hopefully he will do a better job than the Orient fans think
Not sure anyone could have done anything with the Leyton Orient owner at the time. He was a complete basket case. Would rather focus on the fact that he's worked at Football Radar for the owners previously and that the guys behind Brentford's rise and Southampton's pivot (although Southampton have failed this year) hired him
He sure will and therefore it is no surprise they took their time with the next appointment. Definitely more hits than misses which is particularly impressive when as Mud Pie rightly points out that the approach is characterised by extremes. They take calculated risks and I like it.
Jarvis and Whittaker are a great example. Two youngsters with very limited experience signed in January, slow start, written off by some in early March, now seen as good additions with big potential in April. In the latter?s case one we are now hoping is signed up to a long term contract like Jarvis.
Our system almost dictates that starts will be slow and we should expect young inexperienced players to put in mixed performances and lack consistency unless of Abbott?s rare standing at this level.
Who knows maybe Jarvis can be an effective wing back after all
Agree with Durham Richard Montague (and team) recruitment was very effective at Notts
Wish him well of course and it's important the role is filled.
Whilst having multiple experiences can be a positive, it would appear he's not putting down roots in anyone place for a period of time.
Spells at Bolton, Leyton Orient, Portsmouth, Southampton and over in Turkey all in a relatively short space of time would suggest he probably won't be around long term.
I couldn't find a lot of positives about him from any of those clubs either. That said he'll be well supported by the Radar system and recruitment model, lets hope he's good at getting the identified players through the door.
The timing of his appointment is clever, day of the Doncaster game. He'll know within a couple of weeks if he's recruiting for league 1 or 2
Of course, it's odd if people don't question things, unhealthy even. If we didn't question things, we would all still believe God created the world in seven days. Which clearly isn't true because it only took him six days and he rested on the seventh.
There is just a group of posters who don't accept any dissent or doubt from any fan, and this news is being trolled as an excuse to have a go at these people again, which is a shame.
My view is it does look a good appointment on paper and is welcome, but to be sure, you would need to look at his record when he was actually in those jobs, which I don't pretend to have any knowledge of.
The reply from those people would be 'FFS give him a chance, he hasn't even started yet' but when someone new is appointed, it's normal to consider their previous history as a clue to future performance
