It's not just the time wasting though is it at the time Notts we're having the best 10 minute spell of the game but the break took the impetus away from us and gave their manager time to adjust. Make them get treatment of the pitch like any other player and play on without a keeper that will stop it A clock on all sides of the ground should be introduced and stopped for all prolonged breaks ( rugby league style) might stop some time wasting.

I think he was saying that he was adding on every second that he was down, but of course goalkeepers don't do it to waste time.

Referees can't be expected to decide whether a keeper is genuinely injured or not, and making the keeper go off for 5 minutes would be ridiculous - they do get genuinely injured sometimes. But some answer must be found
Nobody has mentioned the physios in all of this. Are they complicit or just being used as pawns in the charade?

Bans for goalkeepers of three games if found to be guilty would be a deterrent. In fact it should apply to outfield players as well. Feigning injury is not in the spirit of the game.

Make the goalkeeper's team mates stand in the centre circle, but allow the opposition players to go to the touchline, that might stop it

That's the perfect solution, it would stop it straight away.

Whatever you do teams will find loopholes to exploit it.

Genius, an idea that needs presenting to the governing body....as along as it's with premium punishments for any obvious fouls on GKs, and retrospective actions if film picks up anything sneaky.
