There's no doubting that our win ratio/form/goals conceded are a major worry and are grounds for sacking the manager but the way our previous goalies and previously and presently selected defenders are gifting goals are throwing him under a bus. Ive never seen such sloppiness and bad defending ever in all my years watching Utd and it doesn't seem to matter what combination he tries they all seem to be failing.

.....lets be honest here though that was 5 bad defensive goals conceded last night. What ever happened to the art of a goal from open play as well? Set piece goals are becoming ***** in the modern game so we obviously have to move with the times and lwarn how to defend them better.

Totally numb after last night. Cldnt bring myself to even talk about it on the journey home.

Ironically I didn?t think we play that bad last night. We competed and deserved to get something from the game.

I thought SCH played well last night. He cldnt do anything about the first and the 2nd I?m sure he tried to clear it with his left but I thought the keeper should have done better.

At 2-1 I thought we were the better team looked comfortable and never thought we looked like we wld conceded.

That said we repeatedly made stupid and needlessly mistakes and gave the ball away too easily throughout the game. Zak kertz and sibbald imo were the main culprits. Moller gave us nothing no idea why dolcek came on waist of a shirt.

Their 3rd goal was criminal. Defence should have done better but it?s the story of our season. When our backs are against the wall we crumble. The team has no resilience That weak mentality will continue to cost us this season and that is on the coaching staff and those who have assembled this team. No doubt JG will allude to the fact that we have on average the youngest team in the prem and this in part is the reason for this but who fault is that!

On a positive note I thought Nammo played well. Trapanovski was a threat all night(I think them playing with wing backs helped this) and Farrugia looks like a footballer, some nice touches from him, not many footballers in this team. I think its clear we need to move to a different formation. 4231 would be my preferred choice. A back 4 where everybody knows their job and 2 players sitting in front. One of them Camara, with a licence to get forward a bit more than say Sevelj next to him. Farrugia looks like he could play in a 10. Sibald could also, probably even get something out of Stirton in that postion too. All three would bring somwthing different. Could Iovu do a job as a centre back? Or we just stick with SCH and Graham. Something needs to change for sure or Goodwin and Unuted are in trouble

First and foremost credit and gratitude to all those fans that travelled yesterday, and I expect most are feeling as Arabknight is in his above post.

JG syas he wont throw players under the bus, but has effectively done so by his comments in The Courier. I don't blame him, but most people would turn round and try and prove him wrong, they just don't seem to be. Therefore imo those guilty have either had their heads turned by potential transfer talk and/or are just sick to death of the same old tactics. Interestingly Hibs line up the same way.

We have some very decent players that have shown fleeting glimpses of capability and equal to most opposing teams. Something is wrong and i think we are getting shades of Wilfred Nancy here. Good team but just don't want play for the manager and/or not comfortable with the tactical set up.

Only saw the highlights, but an 'on fire' Sapsford would likely have put those chances away. Defensively not enough leadership and sorry RG but it has to go to someone else, so you can concentrate on getting back to what was your best. Who I don't know.

I am not calling for JGs head but there has to come a time when his position is untenable, but there is dual responsibility and people need to hold their hands up and either have frank discussion or we continue as we are for a while. As Shedka says this is not the worst of times we ever had, but the frustration and anger is growing, i think seen by seemingly poor sales for the Spartans game.

Ultimately the fans suffer and they dont want to. As the great Jim McClean says the fans need to be entertained. But not to a comedy/tragedy show, its turning out be. Dundee United do not deserve this!

Whilst I get the arguments about formations, the two goals were from not defending set plays, formations irrelevant to set plays. We just have a rank set of defenders, who we are stuck with now to the end of the season. Maybe sjvel can come in to play the right hand side if you play a three. Clel Harding might benefit from a spell on loan in championships to develop. Get in a decent centre who half who can organise and might bring up the standard of those he is playing with. I'd get rid of lovu, esselink, there might be a player in the Hungarian lad, he can pass and has a bit of skill, I know iw people have suggested midfield, but he switches off at centre half.

I was wondering what Goodwin would say last night, difficult one to negotiate, the fans are angry, but you essentially slate the players you are stuck with doesn't help or change fact they can't defend, and you are going to need them to get to end of season.

Serious trouble if Killie start to win games.

Not going to be overcrtical about last night. It was a fairly decent performance spoiled by poor defending at set pieces. Unlike many of our games we weren't negative or lethargic. It was more reminiscent of earlier in season performances. If we can cut out the poor defending and maintain the level of performance I don't see us getting dragged in to a relegation fight.

I was there and I thought we were lethargic first half. Sibald and Stephenson anonymous. I thought hibs passed it around us and between the lines far too easy. We were a mess midfield and defence. They had plenty of the ball in and around our box and we looked like we didn't have a clue how to dedend as a unit.
