Pacman you are complaining quite rightly about how Westhill residents will stereotype football fans but last week you were perfectly happy to do the exact same with folk who like the Stone Roses
I was on the wind up as i was still half canned from my hearts day oot and i knew fine slagging the Stone Roses would touch a nerve with so many folk on here. It was a chance to avenge the years of tune bashing i have endured here. Some of it was a bit off the mark but by f@ck it got some folks backs right up , funny

But dinna get me wrong i still think they are utter utter utter utter sh@te of the highest order. That wasnt a wind up. That was from the heart

But lets not get off topic

Do these protester pr@cks have a website that you can leave comments on?

I had a look at this the other day - of the new flats behind the South Stand, only one of them is quite close to the back wall and that is in the corner near the Y section/ floodlight.

Apart from that, it would seem to be a ground with the luxury of a significant amount of space - particularly, if as has been suggested, the new housing plans for the area involve changing what is currently the section of Pittodrie St behind the Main Stand.

The stuff on Pittodrie coming from the club is purely due to the financial imperative to sell the land to help fund the new place - and nothing to do with it being impossible to rebuild a modern fit for purpose ground on that site.
Agreed. Redeveloping Pittodrie is doable if there was a will. There is no will to do so. The decision has been made they want/need the money from the sale of Pittodrie. Moving to Westhill could potentially be a bad move.

This has been a good thread which clearly divides opinion for sure but for what it's worth I think this, for the future of the club, is drastically needed.

I can't quite figure how there is such a swell of support to redevelop Pittodrie? With what money exactly? We can barely pay £200k for a player let alone £40m for a brand spanking set-up. The sale proceeds are much needed to realise the vision.

For those of you that bemoan the move but wish to redevelop are inadvertently admitting Pittodrie is ****e which doesn't make sense. It's also laughable at the "doable" comments, if it's doable to redevelop the current location then it's also "doable" for the regular fan to add 4 miles to his current trip from a like for like starting point in the centre of town.

The commercial opportunity for such a move will open various revenue streams such as open air concerts in the summer with inadequate facilities up this end of the country for such events. There will also be an increase in m

Someone on my Facebook shared the Westhill Council post that announced the plans. No hint of bias one way or the other from the council, but some of the comments are brilliant!

"As many as 10000 fans walk to Pittodrie... To get to Westhill they will need 5000 cars or 200 buses - where will they park?"
    (same guy...)
"Will the new stadium hold 30000? 600 buses - 15000 cars? MADNESS!"

"30000 people looking for a drink, a toilet and a fight every week. Great! No wonder they're trying to get it as far out of the city as they can"

I imagine these people must stay indoors with the curtains shut whenever the Dons are at home as the centre of town descends into chaos and lawlessness.

A handful of complaints would probably be enough to derail this project. I think a 'Yes' campaign is extremely important in direct opposition to these huns from Westhill.

I imagine both councils have already agreed to this, in principle.

Didn’t Aberdeen Shire offer to host the stadium previously.

All these people saying 'Times change' need to realise that this move could kill the club.

The simple fact is that the club are lying to us and are not being honest regarding the funding. There is a reason why no one knows how it will be funded. Milne knows full well that a massive loan will be needed, if he released that to us, do you really think people would be on board with the project? He is trying to sweep it under the carpet.

As for Pittodrie being unable to be re-done, they have been saying that for 20 years, remember the subsidence problems with the south stand? We were told in 2000 that it was sinking 1cm a season and wouldn't be fit for purpose.

Trust in board, you say, well, how about 20 years to pay off £10 million, 40+ years to get a training ground built, 20+ years of flawed appointments leading to embarrassing results, selling off ground around pittodrie that was required for redevelopment of the stadium, continually lying to fans regarding true intenti
