we shouldn't be held to ransom on this one, like the arab says we can get him January for peanuts
All depends if the 6 fingered mob can afford to refuse our money
he's got to weigh it up business vs performance
sell him quids in, keep him he'll score goals although with the amount of players released have they even got a starting 11?
We shouldn't be held to ransom by a club that's skint, over an untested player at a Premiership level. It's not as if we've offered £50K for the boy. This is a gamble for us as well. There's no evidence he's even good enough to play in the Premiership.
100% it's a gamble, even at £50k.
Muirhead and Telfer ffs.
No way we should be paying over the odds for ANY player never mind an untested one at this level.
Loads of teams in the past in our top league with lesser resources than us have picked up wee gems on frees from the English and Scottish leagues so let's see if our scouting team can do the same.
No way we should be paying any more than £200k (3 year deal for a good free on £1200+bonus a week say) for Nisbett from Dunfermline.
Fk that.
Sorry but I have to disagree. Shankland's also untested at Premiership level and we were talking about multiple millions for him just a few months ago. OK he's scored a couple of cup goals against Premier league opposition and had a few minutes for Scotland against the national equivalent of a pub team, but they were quite closely matched over the season at championship level. The Nisbet boy is going to be quality and I have no doubt will score goals at a higher level. Don't forget his goals for Raith the season before, he came up a level but carried on scoring, he can do the same again. He will be a good investment I'm certain.
Hard to judge unless you've seen the boy play really. We've all seen Shankland and know what he's about. He's proven himself in consecutive seasons in the Championship. 27 league goals in both campaigns (Nisbet got 18 last season) Scored three goals against the two Premiership teams he played against last season, and scored at international level. I think we're more entitled to say Shankland is worth more than Nisbet.
