Went to my usual local garage to pick up the car late this afternoon, following its MOT.

I was locked in reception "so no-one come near me", I had to sanitise my hands before I put the card into the card reader.

I went, "Whoa! you can't be buying into this bull****?"

The mechanic went away and came back with his boss.

We have known each other for over 20 years, he said, "Sorry BT, but I've just been fined £100.00 and given a police caution for not observing social distancing rules in our reception".

He then added, he was warned a £1,000.00 fine will be awarded for one more single transgression. WTF?

"Lots of people are catching covid and dying from it."

I did say on another post OC that the survival rate for Covid was over 99%, the latest WHO figure puts it at 99.7%. Which means that for every 1,000 who catch the virus just 3 die and 997 don't. So if, on a worldwide basis, you want to say that lots of people are dying from Covid, it's only fair to point out that an awful lot more aren't.

More FAKE news sinkov. I have repeatedly mentioned 10,000 people die in the UK every week on average and have been passing at that rate consistently for the last ten years.

No change. No new, increased morbidity figures. No nothing, just fear, paranoia and panic created by a Cabal of Cabinet Minister Conservative and Unionist Cretins.

Oh BT: I would love to hear your ideas on the Big bang theory, go on give us something to think about this weekend .....and I did not see your ideas of 'real knowledge'. But perhaps the child bride needs you the most ?

For simplicity's sake Balan, I will agree with your lot and believe God created us all just to ultimately wipe us all out with the deadly plague that is COVID-19.

Does it matter I have no influence over policy. Governments have Chief Professional advisers appointed by civil service not politicians (unlike USA ) and they have advisory committees of the great and good. SAGE is one in public health but there are others also in medicine.

They are independent of Government and stay in post whoever is in Government. So Sir Rodney would be getting the same advice.
The issue is are any other medical committees disagreeing. It’s not obvious they are. A few individuals offer alternatives but as ICU beds fill up and staff can’t cope deaths will escalate and panic will set in the aim will be to stop it and lockdown again.

My father-in-law is suffering serious ill-health issues at present and he is in and out of Royal Bolton Hospital rather more than he would like at present. On every homecoming he says the same, "it's as quiet as a mouse" and this has been going on since early April.

Remarkably, and despite the dire warnings of a "pandemic" in Bolton, he breezes every coronavirus test and is now slowly on the mend.

No evidence whatsoever here Bolton, which is an alleged "COVID hotspot" that our ICU is bursting at the seams ~ quite the opposite in fact.

Indeed there are OC, there are numerous highly qualified individuals, medical and scientific bodies disagreeing about the current Lockdown policy. The reason it's not obvious there are, is because the government and most of the media do not give any space to dissenting voices, for instance I've just had a look at the BBC website, there are over 30 Covid stories to choose from, not one of them questions in any shape or form government policy. It's taken as a given that the government way is the only way, so of course people like your good self and 59/60, who trust the BBC and get their news and info from it, don't know any different.
