When asked if he was going to visit the crash site, he asked if they thought he was going to go swimming.

That is not the kind of frivolous comment that anyone should be making. It might be a small comment but it is things like this that reveal what he is really like.

Are you really that thick? It's not about "exactly what Trump said", it's about him trying to pin the blame on the Democrats before any facts are known. You really are providing a masterclass in blind stupidity tonight.

No worries Swale. I appreciate everyone's views. I can generally see who is disgusted by what Trump says, but I've read the full text and taking into account with what went off before, I see his point. I'm certainly not 'disgusted'. Many of those 'disgusted' were also disgusted by Trump's comments on the LA fires and the Hurricanes in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida. Which were later proved to be correct.

Sorry to copy and paste so much, but I believe that there on many on here that haven't seen the main part of what was said. He was asked, he answered.

Q: "Are you saying this crash was somehow caused as the result of diversity hiring? And what evidence have you seen to support these claims?"

TRUMP: "It just could have been. We have a high standard. We've had a much higher standard than anybody else. And there are things where you have to go by brainpower. You have to go by psychological quality, and psychological quality is a very important element of it. These are various, very powerful tests that we put to use. And they were terminated by Biden. And Biden went by a standard that seeks the exact opposite. So we don't know. But we do know that you had two planes at the same level. You had a helicopter and a plane. That shouldn't have happened. And, we'll see. We're going to look into that, and we're going to see. But certainly for an air traffic controller, we want the brightest, the smartest, the sharpest. We want somebody that's psychologically superior. And that's what we're going to have.?

He then got asked if he believed Diversity policies or the helicopter pilots had been at fault. He said that it was currently under investigation.

We all differ on opinions and that's fine. I personally have no qualm after reading different transcripts from outlets about he said. I just hope all those that are throwing stones apply the same scrutiny to all politicians in power when they say things.

So why was he asked? Because HE suggested that the crash could be the result of diversity hiring. And you see nothing wrong with him suggesting that. Nothing at all.

What you simply refuse to see is that he has chosen, just a few hours after a tragic plane crash, when there are probably still bodies missing, to make it political and to question people?s mental capacity, psychological well-being and even physical conditions.

Absolutely no compassion. There is a time and place for everything - and today was not the time.

That is what I am so appalled by - he may well be proved right when there is a full investigation, but for now, show some compassion.

I don't see it......sorry. If I was a relative or parent of those that were killed, I would want from the get go, everything to be looked at. For me, openness is extremely important and I feel that many in control do all they can to cover up mistakes that occurred under their watch. There is proof of that in all 'democracies'.

What I see is an ongoing issue with the body who regulates air safety in the US. This was identified many years ago, but although Trump claims that he fixed it while he was in power only for it to broken again with Biden, it obviously isn't fixed. From what I read, many of Trump's team believe it is career public servants that have prevented it from happening.

The accident has happened and I wouldn't want anything brushed under the carpet just to protect someone's career. Compassion is of no use if you have lost someone through possibly somebody else's error or because they were doing a high level job that was above their ability.

Trump didn't say it was definitely because of DEI recruitments, but he did say it had weakened the quality of the FAA. I was pointing out, that as the country's leader, he had a right to raise the issue - at any time - especially as he'd been talking about it for years.

And still you won't utter a single word of criticism against Trump.

    Not one single word.

Lullapie has gone Ladies and Gentleman.

He is so far lost in right-wing talking heads and "alternative facts" that he can no longer easily differentiate how a decent human being should behave (and certainly the words that should be said by a head of state after a tragedy) by the dirge he is being spoon-fed.

He is not alone, sadly this is endemic.

Being generous, I'm sorry but you still don't appear to understand that you're arguing about a completely different topic from the rest of us.
