I was kidding by the time it is built the only thing i am likely to be fighting is the nurse delivering my meds.
Live near a stadium myself and , other than some parking issues never bothered me at all.

Best to keep it civil. Abuse will only embolden the NIMBYs and fuel their sense of righteousness. Best not to fan the flames.
The majority of those against will be folk who hate football (and are worried about potential impact on their property values) and the sort of overly concerned mothers who wrap their children in cotton wool. Rational debate isn't going to cut through that sort of irrational, prejudiced thinking but as local residents they have every right to have some of their concerns considered and addressed.

I was talking more 'in general'. The NIMBYs aren't the ones the club needs to convince. They just need to be thrown a few bones to show that their concerns have been taken on board by the Council.
I suspect they are p1shing in the wind to be honest but i am far from convinced it will go ahaed. It's been talked about since i was at school FFS
I've read several letters in the local rag from folk who stay in Westhill complaining about traffic, destroying the green belt, poor road access etc.
Why get excited and start complaining now - you're all years too late.
They must realise that Westhill has already been destroyed over the years by the mass construction of houses and huge amounts of very ugly offices, workshops, engineering yards, massive shopping outleats and a pathetic shopping centre which took its design from the Mastick plans of 1960.
If they stayed in Monymusk, they would have a valid point, but what was a piecefull little village 40 years ago has turned into your worst nightmare (for now) - looking at forward plans (assuming things pick up again) - it is scheduled to double again in size so things will indeed get worse.
Thank goodness then that the new AFC facility is in Aberdeen.
Like everyone else I'm keen to see a detailed break down of how the board are planning to fund it. You would have to think that being debt free should give us a decent chance of obtaining a long term loan.
Its ***** that the board listen to want we want if/when we do move. A safe standing area for the singing section, a large bar at the stadium, a museum, incorporating the Merkland granite facade and activities for kids pre-match are all a must as far as I'm concerned.
It would be a nice touch if the academy wasd after Teddy Scott.
.
Museum surelyd after Ted the red
I am surprised no one has mentioned the capacity of the stadium and how low it is. What are peoples thoughts?
^^^^^^^
We dont sell out Pittodrie very often so the capacity is not an issue. All it means is some big game charlies winna get their Euro games or their pigs games or their Man Utd friendlies and thats no skin off my nose.
Our average must be around the 14k mark thats because we are doing alright. If say we get a bit sh@t then that average will drop.
But also to take into consideration we are going to lose heaps of fans if we move out there if you listen to folk on here![]()
A 20,000 capacity would be likely.
