I fall into one of the 'at risk' categories. I have mild asthma which has never caused me any real problems, but this virus can apparently make that happen. My main concern is my low immune system due to the medication I use to treat rheumatoid arthritis. I have to self inject a drug called abatacept, along with a methotrexate injection, once a week, which suppresses my immune system to slow down and halt the effects of the arther.
So my choices are either carry on as normal, putting myself and subsequently my family at risk.

Self isolate for 12 weeks, probably without pay as I exhausted most of my sick pay and leave pay entitlements while off recovering from a knee replacement.

Or stop taking the immuno suppressant medication, which will allow my immune system to function efficiently after a few weeks, but will leave me in agonising pain due to the arthritis becoming active again.

I'm screwed one way or another whichever option I choose.

Keep yourself safe mate I know it's a difficult choice and easy for someone else to say this but your health really does come first .

I understand with your conditions that's a difficult choice right now .

All the best with what ever you decide .

Did Nostradamus know 2020 would be a bad year for some?

Great plague for Italy he predicted, obviously he wouldn’t have know the new names that are being given now.

What’s he predicted next or was it him that cursed certain places?

Jeane Dixon (psychic) predicted Armageddon for 2020, she also said worlds end in 1962

The China and Hong Kong economy fell off a cliff the 2 months from mid Jan and are in recession. Expect the same in Europe and USA the next few months. We are heading for a seriously tough times on health, social and economics.

China collapse in retail down 24%, asset investment down 20% and manufacturing in negative territory. In the areas that went into shut down on 24th Jan, many shops and factories are still to reopened.

Hong Kong tourism to 4% of what it was the same time last year. Their govermment are reinvesting to save jobs.

Travel restrictions will bankrupt the holiday industry, hotels, airlines and cruise industry by the middle of the year.

The knock on will be to create bad debt in the Banking sector (we've seen that before).

Our retail sector and shopping centres (like Bluewater and Meadowhall) are already in serious financial trouble. 2 months of shut down will kill many. Bars, restaurants and cinamas will close.

Companies will lose sales and its supply chain and, at the same time, have to pay its workers.

Not sure the Government help annouced in the budget will go far enough.

Who should pick up the bill? Should it be down to private businesses or should we all take a hit.
