He didn't suggest he has a doctored passport because he is black ?
He suggested his mobility and birth age didn't tally with the movement he was displaying on the pitch, he then likened his age and movement to that of Africans with a false passport and false ages simply because it is a recognisable analogy that most people know about and can relate to as it was headline news.
That's probably why Julian Jenner wasn't used as an example as someone eluded to earlier because no one would know what he was on about i doubt if ross even knows who he was.
Age and lack of mobility were the primary factor ,like i said before, , "if it would have been ok if captain Tom was used as an example would it be ok and the answer was no it wouldn't because Captain Tom isn't black and is out of context as well as saying it would be having a pop at people that are immobile,
who would figure , you mention black or white coffee its deemed as inappropriate you mention captain tom and its unfair on those with mobility issues, its a minefield out there the world as gone crazy..
The upshot is Enzio felt offended and I'm not disagreeing with that i cant tell anyone how to feel about a remark made against them., I'm sure he's been called far worse but I'm disappointed that they couldn't sit around a table discuss it (or nut him) point out the dangers and get back out training and perhaps work and coach Enzio's movement and runs around the pitch. Really disappointed as there is a great player in there waiting to get out.
I'm disappointed that Enzio seemed to be more focused on what was deemed to be racist comment rather than get on the pitch and try and improve his game , simply because if it was me that's what i would have chose to do. But I've been called far worse than that in my lifetime , in life at work and on a football pitch.
I'm also disappointed that Ross made such a poor way to critique his player but like QP says it could have been meant as a joking polite loving critism but taken out of context.?

p.s i could be wrong and IB and Enzio might well have been out on the training ground working on run patterns and timings so fingers crossed we will see a new and improved attacking performance from him at the weekend. Like i say i actually rate him as a player and believe there is so much more potential in there to burst out , especially if he's not used as a defensive midfielder or right wing back !

As I have mentioned elsewhere you are entitled to your opinion. To me it reads like you write for the Daily Mail but its your opinion and thats cool. Personally I can't wait to see the back of him as I don't think he is what we need and I would imagine he is on mega bucks for this level. He has consistently drifted in and out of things since we signed him so maybe Ross is right and he does have mobility issues. The mind boggles pedro. Have a good day me duck. I'm off for a gallon.

Are we required to state the colours of our wives and children in the poll Pedro ? The logic behind the people defending Ross is absolutely beyond me and I'm disgusted by it, nothing to do with condescension or arrogance just plain right or wrong. I believe what he said was stupid AND racist , 2 words that go hand in hand and that's a FACT.

I can't believe people are arguing in favour of Ross. Yes what he said was racist due to Enzio being black and the African stereotype. If you have a go at someone and bring their race into it then that's racist. Why even mention race? He could have just said he's lazy or slow. Would he have said that African passport joke about a slow white player, no. We don't need people who casually use racist jokes and stereotypes at the club. He himself resigned which was the right decision.

i find it quite amusing that we have many anti racism warriors posting on this who have only read about it and not had to live with it but all of a sudden feel they are experts on it.
A very honorable and noble mission (no not thickos) but I believe they can be clouded by the reality of it and jump on any horse in the name of racism.lets not get ignorance or I'll judged remarks or poor judgement get mistaken as outright racism.
For one minute Ithere I thought you was going to say your not racist because you have lots of black friends...
Off course we are all entitled to our opinions and the most telling one around this is Enzios but is there a sub plot to this? As QP has said there is a big matter of context around what was said that we are not privy to.

This is a pretty funny way of thinking, it's usually the other way around that "you're not a person of colour, you wouldn't understand" is used.

I'm usually the person that would bring up "I'm not a helicopter pilot but if I see one in a tree I know something went wrong", I also live in Ilkeston, so believe me, I've seen plenty of racism first hand if for some reason that gives any more importance to my opinion (I don't think it should)

Nothing about this requires an expert, there's a reason 90% of this thread is in agreement and you're on the other side...
