Great article in the Times today from our supremo on the new project. Suggest a read.

Was the capacity ever mentioned in the proposal?

The capacity will be 19-20k with a standing area. Milne reckons if it's too big it's another reason for folk not to go. He's right.

Yeah decent read, but their online set up is fort knox.

As has been said the 19-20 figure is deliberate, to create a "premium" situation that drives demand, which is the right thing to do. The steep stands, safe sanding and and all the rest are a given.

I've never heard of people not going to a stadium because it was too big!
What size is too big ?
Why would people not go , what was his line of reasoning ?

Not going cos there is not enough parking , yes. & that looks to be the case.
If his logic is so obscure on parking space how can you trust it in other directions.

Why do you think he is right ?

If it's too big, then it becomes an empty soul bowl.

20k seems about right to me.

Pittodrie used to be over 24K seating capacity.

I've never thought the atmosphere is somehow better now - than when it had more capacity.
In fact it had a better atmosphere because it was more enclosed , with the Beachend.

The architecture of the ground is more important than reduced capacity.

But if Milne's idea of 'premium' bears any relation to his other constructions , then I will not be expecting too much.
