I thought that it may have one of those games that go against the grain like Reading did

A low-scoring week (again) where we only managed to average 4 points. We are now three-quarters of the way through this and stamina should be important in the run-in.

There was only one correct score; Davee managed to bag it and it made him this week’s high-flying bird with a 7. Down like dead parrots, pining for the fiords, were me and Claw who only managed 2s. It all hardly made a jot of difference to the table though, Southblue got on top of Nobby and that’s it.

It’ll take some remarkable foresight or a huge dollop of luck to change the status quo now but who knows? Anything can happen in sport.

Two contestants did well this week and a special mention to top-scorer Mullen who got 11 results correct. That deserved more than the one place he moves up the table, but a big well done, that’s what this is all about. Tricky did well too, helped by getting two of the weekend’s three correct scores. His 10 puts him into second place and he’s caught up 4 points on the leader Howoldboy. He won’t be worrying too much yet though.

Average score was 5.9 though Blackdogblue’s footballing weekend was further spoiled as he got the lowest score of 2. Chalky seems to be on one of his sabbaticals and hopefully we’ll see him back much refreshed in the near future. It’s only 18 points mate. Or 81, depending on what you’re after.

Much as football fortunes can change, so can this competition. I’m off to find a Simmo to get me back on track.
