LW is going to go i'd be stunned if he didnt go it is just a case of crossing the I's and dotting the T's.

Personally I think this ends our chances of promotion thats how highly I rate him.
I think it opens up new opportunities and may enhance our promotion push. Don't get me wrong LW was fantastic, the football was superb, he had great rapport with the fans and the players loved him... but, he never got the defence sorted and recently some performances were insipid / tired. He was a definite upgrade on Bruchnall, who was an improvement on Ardley, there is every reason to believe that Williams' replacement will be another upgrade as they will be starting from a better place. Our Owners have proved adept at identifying talent who move the club forward, and there is no reason to believe that this won't happen again. In fact, at this stage, I think him staying would have been more detrimental.

Let's also remember we had a soft underbelly under IB and lacked that aggression and bit extra that was needed to challenge for automatic promotion especially away from home away on cold dark winter nights. Some may argue it's the case now after five defeats on the road, but I feel the current away defeats have been more down to inconsistency, individual errors better quality opposition and compound fatigue due to injuries we have had this season so lack of options on the bench as opposed to our style of play.

I reckon whoever is the new gaffer is screwed anyway. We will end up in a Burchnall scenario again, where some won't get behind him because he's not LW. If he got us up the narrative would be it's because of the work LW did. Every time we lose it will be, we wouldn't have lost that under LW.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that.

LW has proved he can get us promoted and handled the pressure of the play offs superbly.

The issue we have lately is we have zero depth on the bench as 3 are out long term for a start all coaches would struggle to deal with that.

We need a few more players asap.

I agree with the last part, we definitely need more bodies and I think that will have a bigger impact on our outcome this year.

We can't control what happens with LW, but we can control our response. I chose to be positive and look at where we can improve and trust the system to take advantage of that. I may be wrong (quite probably will be), but I think a positive outlook is a healthier and happier place to be.

In the big scheme of things all this is pretty unimportant for everyone other than the brothers, LW, RH and the Swansea owners. Life for the rest of us will continue much as before.

His contract was extended in the NL I presume at NL levels the new guys will expect FL level contracts.

I’d be quite happy for the owners to hear out Stuart Maynard. I think he’s had Wealdstone punching well above where they should and they play very decent football.

He has every chance of succeeding there. It wasn't on a plate here, it won't be there otherwise anyone can do the job and they'd all succeed.
Swansea do strike me as a club that we should look to as to how they went from L2 to the Premier League. I can't remember if was it through money being thrown at it or gradual improvement. I recall when they were floating around league two in the 90's and early 00's and they rose to the top much like Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Cardiff.

Some of the comments remind me of when we won the League Two title under Steve Cotterill and people were saying "my grandma could have got that team promoted"

Football is a team game, it's the collective that got the job done on both occasions. You've got to have both decent players and decent coaches/manager to get promoted. For me on both occasions both Cotteril and Williams were that extra bit needed to complete the jigsaw so to speak.
