The 10 men have been arrested as part of Operation Stovewood the alleged offences date back about 20 years

The men, are aged between 35 and 53, were questioned and released. No comments on their ethnicity

President of Turkey to make a announcement on the 15 September 2020, to which he could decide whether to have a lockdown or carry on has normal, we were thinking of returning next month, but will wait until he decides what to do, before we book for the hotel we are in now, we thought of extending our holiday, but hotel full, & we need to get our prescriptions for medication, we can get our medication here, but will return home tomorrow.

To give some credit where it's due.

Had two holidays with Jet2 this year that were cancelled due to Covid.

First one (Kos) they had refunded the money back to my account 5 days after the cancellation notice

Second one (Tenerife) took a bit longer at 8 days after the cancellation notice

Pretty good really when you read the refund horror stories

    FAO Eric's lad/Crash.

Fed up of waiting to hear from Virgin regarding our refund so did a section 75 as you both suggested. 72 hours later, result! Payment put back onto my credit card and today I requested it to go back into my bank account. Cheers fella.

Do feel for the tour operators because of the Covid situation, however, if they want to retain loyal customers like us, then they should look to pay back refunds much more quicker than 81 days!

Well done Brin, glad your money is safely back in your account.
I was talking to the owner of the hotel we have just been in, regarding how the travel companies are paying hotels in respect to payment times , the owner I have known for years told me that the travel company pays him, twice a year, be it the tourist season in Turkey is May to October.

Brin, Before Howdy hijacked your thread, not i sure if you saw my post saying Virgin had filed bankruptcy protection in the US courts and filed for a creditors meeting in the UK courts to approve restructuring of the business for the new lending. The UK case is to be heard 25th Aug. I guess thats why theyve not paid you.

Just come back from 4 weeks in Icmeler Turkey no-one bothers you if you carry a face covering usually on your arm where it can be seen, just put it on when visiting shops etc. As for the Passenger Locator Form which everybody returning to UK must fill in (waste of nearly an hour of my life) not once were we asked to produce it

Just comeback from Turkey, flew back into Doncaster on Monday 17 August, had to show the locator form, which has to be filled in 48 hours before returning to U/K. What I did was fill in the most of the form before we went on our 2 week holiday, the locator government website holds your information for just 7 days, what I did was log on to our forms around every 6 days, then log off, this then keeps your information, no problem, then 48 hours before coming back to the U/K finish the form. There was 4 immigration / passport control people on duty at Doncaster, some would have been a big hold up if people had not done their locator forms onto their phones, laptops. We flew in from Dalaman airport.
My oldest son flew into East Midlands airport about 4 weeks ago, from holidaying in Icmeler, Turkey, he had done his form, straight through passport / immigration at airport, but 4 desks open for people who had not done the locator forms, so had to fill in at the airport, taking around 30 minutes.
Also my oldest son flew out to us a week last Thursday, he was stopping in Ovacik / Hisaronu, he flew back into East Midlands Thursday 20 August, same again he went straight through having done his locator form, but people held up who had not done it, both his flights into the U/K from Dalaman.

Don't feel too sorry for airlines. American Airlines took a huge multi-billion Covid relief payout from the US government. Stipulations on the money were that companies couldn't layoff workers. The stipulation ends September 30th. They just announced 19,000 layoffs starting October 1st.
