I have a number of tickets from the late 70's early 80's where the price rnages from £3.00 to £10.00 for bands including Floyd, Tull, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zappa, Hawkwind, Peter Gabriel, Gerry Rafferty, Santana, Grateful Dead and so on.

My general limit is around the £50 mark. I'm making a return to Newcastle City Hall, 45 years after I last attended a gig there in April to see Tull which cost £55 including some mysterious fees even though I booked direct with the venue!

Rush without Neil Peart is simply Dawdle

Agreed it?s not ?Rush? but I?ve seen a number of Rush tribute bands and expect this shower to be the best. Plus I really like Geddy (if that?s ok to admit given his origin) especially after reading his autobiography

I have various ceilings, depending on the artist concerned. Chrissy Hind/Pretenders would be 75 euro. This summer we have the 4 tops and Temptations with only Otis Williams of the Temps a surviving original member. I baulked at 66 euros, having paid 40 to see them both in 2007 and even back then they needed the bar stools that were on the stage. I've passed on a fair few gigs where the ticket prices were north of 100 for bands I'd maybe pay 50 for.

Sweet Soul. Slow, mellow and Sweet Soul is making a comeback. There's a growing number of gigs doing that and Deep Soul. I put it down to the advancing age of Soulies, most of whom can no longer do 8 hours solid dancing to 100mph bangers.
