Judging by the performance of PM's
( and Heads of State )particularly from the Blair/ Brown era, to the present time , perhaps, we should have televised psychiatric tests alongside the pre election campaign debates ?
How , have we arrived at a situation, whereby calls for public inquiries, into wholesale , serial and systemic offending of the worst possible kind, renders those advocates to be " jumping on a far right bandwagon ?"
Why, have the basic principles of "justice, " decency and right over wrong, become secondary to political interest and power ?

Politics is a dirty game and all sides use anything to score points. The thing is, the whole political spectrum is so tainted that spotting the truth is nigh on impossible. For all sides their way is the only way and anything anyone else says (no matter how sensible) is deemed wrong. I do think though that in this case KS is having a dig at Musk and his interference?

yes. Even you - a normally seemingly sensible poster - supports Med and Lulla's obvious bigotry and intolerance over reasonable discussion. You called me a racist for pointing it out - or an ageist/***ist it was hard to tell - and when I asked how you thought I could have raised the issue better - in the interest of hearing you out - you basically ran away leaving us with your drive-by insult. Your way is the only way?

Give over. I posted the option to google the current argument (which was the influence of the left on education) to allow a person to weigh up different opinions, how can that be seen as supporting either side of the argument? As for the drive-by that wasn't intentional by any means (and I can't remember thinking that you were asking a question, or I would have responded - my biggest fault - responding). I was looking for references for my reply but I ran out of the will to live with constant arguments. I apologise if I appear to have intended any insult, that wasn't my intention.

not sure I understand all that given what you wrote, but definitely over given! A couple of other posters read your (surprising) reply to my comment as I did, so thanks for clearing that up. Happy to hear it was misconstrued.

To the bigger point you raised: I'd bet we all have far more in common than not, and think it's a shame that we (myself included) focus on hammering out our differences so much. Often internal tensions manifest externally, health issues, financial stress etc, but all we see on here is the fighting spirit. I ALWAYS regret it when I get too het up on message boards, but genuinely missing Nottingham and Notts, I value this board and appreciate everyone's input - although not always the content! Kumbaya...

If you understood what the literal definition of bigotry was, you would be saying that probably most of the posters on NCM could be classed as bigots.

Bigotry is defined as the fact of having and expressing strong, unreasonable beliefs and disliking other people who have different beliefs or a different way of life

My belief is that we are all born equally (from our mothers), and we all have the ability to do and achieve what we want - irrespective of creed or colour. You obviously strongly don't agree with that, so therefore you are being a bigot.

You are taking the common step of calling everyone who doesn't agree with your views 'bigots' and paraphrasing what the actual definition of the word is to suit YOUR argument.

you sound very confused, not least because you're putting words in my mouth that I didn't say and don't agree with.

I don't have the time or the will to debate it with you, Lulla sorry. Just to say that if you follow this logic to its reasonable conclusion, it would be bigoted to dislike serial killers, Naz!s, and ped0philes etc - which I don't think is what you really mean is it?

You called me a bigot did you not and I showed the definition of what bigotry was - where am I putting words in your mouth?

I was saying that you are redefining a word to suit your argument. Quite humorous how you throw Nazis in with Pedophiles and Serial Killers - I think that shows where you're coming from.

You obviously don't know about German history. There were some good Nazis (Members of the German National Socialist Party), but these were purged and murdered during the Night of The Long Knives. Many of those murdered were murdered because they didn't support Hitler's views on persecuting Jews and going to war with neighbouring countries to promote lebensraum.

You even appeared to have a go at Smiffy Pie, who is probably one of the most balanced people on here.

"The award winning reporter, Andrew Norfolk, who broke the grooming scandal says that far from covering up the problem, Starmer made the prosecutions possible"

Political point-scoring is gross, and it only happened because Elon is various shades of lunatic and decided to tweet about something he briefly read and knew nothing about.

... Although that's the general concensus with outrage innit? Let's have a bare bones understanding but knuckledrag and be mad.

He needs to stay out of politics, never mind fund German and UK far right groups.
