I think you may have exhausted your ‘toolmaker’s son’ reference now…even more than Starmer did all of 16 months or so ago.

You reckon? You might regret that assertion. His Dad was a toolmaker, you know? Well actually his Dad owned a factory that made tools to be more precise.

Apparently there was a better than usual turn out in the younger generation which swung the vote.

Promising signs, we know Reforms demographic is the older generation. This is key getting younger people voting. If only they'd bothered in 2016

The demographic that made the difference yesterday wasn?t youth it was Welshness. There?s no equivalent in England, last night there were two alternative votes, in England there?s only one.

I suspect those in Cornwall, London and a number of major cities may disagree.
Agree, ‘Welshness’ was a significant factor yesterday, but that doesn’t disprove Sith’s theory that the youth vote was also important…unless you actually KNOW differently about the Caerphilly demographic, which I doubt you do.

So it?s an anecdote with no scientific support. Fair enough but when I offer anecdotes they are dismissed, not usually by you I?ll add but it is a fact. Thanks at least for identifying your source.

With all due respect, I feel the BBC reporting that there appeared to be ‘an unexpectedly strong turnout from younger voters’ and that they represent the ‘cohort who are most opposed to Brexit’ and the ‘cohort who are least likely to vote for Reform’ is information of rather more value than your own (sometimes) provenly flawed anecdotes.

I think that the source is a strong one, and whittle himself mentioned the young vote in his acceptance speech gives the claim a degree of credibility. People on the ground clearly feel confident enough to state it in print or on record during a speech.

It's certainly stronger than repeating anedecdotal information obtained from a bloke down the pub.
