re: The Quenelle gesture and the loss of rationale thought

Thanks for the illumination on this subject.

Keep this up and I shall cancel my Times subscription.

My overall reaction is that this gesture is very far removed from a real offence.

At worst, Jews know they are hated by 100's of millions across the world...they now know Anelka is one of that number.

Trying to put myself in their position I think I would think this insignificant considering the daily life or death struggles at their Borders.

He will be fine so long as Sky dont cover it.

If he's lucky,it will all end up 'blown' out of proportion.

black d. Just saying it how I see it and I do not recall many going against the FA regarding the John terry case and that was just based on allegations and lip reading and even a Westminster magistrates court jury finding him not guity, even Anton refused to back the claims up The FA still went ahead and made their appalling decision to hold a kangaroo court and convict.

    THAT was pc gone mad.

Now that the whole PC thing seems to be also targeting (shock horror)people of the non Anglo-Saxon persuasion for doing exactly the same thing, people are now suddenly outraged?
You cant have it both ways.

My point being, John Terry was all about allegations, Anelka was blatant on camera,un-missable, you seem an intelligent man, I think you will know exactly what the gesture implicated.

BD I should have also said, as an example.

"Why do feeble minded thick c.unts look for problems, where they do not exist ?"

And if you said or thought the same about the John Terry case then fair play to you.

Saw this on SSN last night. The bloke hasn't even arrived in England yet and he's already involved in a race row

As said above, the whole handshake thing is a farce anyway. Causes more problems than there would be without it. The whole "will they, won't they?" handshake debacle with Terry/Bridge and Suarez/Evra was pathetic and embarrassing. Just shake hands after the game with those you want to instead of making a big deal out of refusing one or, even worse, faking respect for someone you can't stand.

Well Michael I did not know or notice.Completely under the radar. The press reported, the french think this...What,it's the french... and why do we care, what the french think ????

And the madness continues. The FA actually want to investigate and hire a translator - can you believe it - to understand what this NEW gesture might mean.

And their analysis, the dumb b.astards believe that something ugly and nasty has occured on their watch. And they are right...but it's not this.

This is based on a french dingbat that probably believes he is saving anglo/french relations.

Attempting to ascribe someones intention from a translated extrapolation of a gesture is...hopelessly flawed.

On the other hand,Anelka is a muslim with a daft beard and I think if he gets a ban with that face furniture...it is only his own fault.
