Obviously the situation at Rangers looks pretty dire but I doubt any of the small shareholders thought they'd be making any money anytime soon after the IPO...
The Rangers fans didn't buy shares in their club though, did they?

They bought shares in the parent company of The Rangers going by their logic.
Sorry mate, all that stuff bores me to tears...

I've got a couple of thousand Celtic shares, couldn't tell you what they are worth, couldn't tell you how much they cost.
Aye Danny I have bought shares in Celtic PLC from McCann's first issue in 1994 and two further offerings...all bought at different prices and its an emotional investment for most!

An emotional investment is right, but when I enter Celtic Park, I do so with a sense of great pride that my money played a minutely small part in building that magnificent arena, which in turn led to us being restored at our rightful place at the top of the Scottish game.

    Hail Hail.

fans buy shares to own a part of the club for sentimental reasons but in saying that they would expect the money raised to be used for the long term good of the club too not just cover expenses for a couple of seasons

What would have hurt them prior is to be told their shares in Rangers PLC were worthlessa after liquidation in 2012. If the price of RIFC keeps dropping, I may buy a few, they'll be priceless when the bears are back in the Champions League

I reckon they'll drop to 9p, that's my target price to wedge in. Any bears want to bail out, geeza shout.

    re: Rangers share price

In all seriousness, if I was a Bear, I think I'd be very worried about the future from the point of view that if and when administration comes, no fan in their right mind would again spend their hard earned money on shares in a Rangers parent company.

That's bad from the point of view that fans would then have little influence at an EGM/AGM. Even less than they did at the recent RIFC AGM, in fact.
