WTF

It's an analysys type of thread...

Less pressure on us recently as we've been pretty much assured of a play-off spot for the last few games.
WTF? Stop writing cack, we were chasing 2nd spot for the last month, so we all were under pressure, and we didn't have a play off sealed until the last week or so
the only pressure was to keep a winning run together, once we ahd lost to Burnley any serious thought of 2nd spot had gone and we have been confortably in the playoffs four over 3 monthswith an 11 pt cushion. We;d have had to lose 4 games on the trot and the others win those 4 to b

Nonsense, if we can lose to Millwall we could of lost to anyone, any relaxation in pressure was down to the teams going for sixth failure to put a run together, which might just mean that they are not very good.

And Wigan lost at home to Blackpool and QPR away at Donny which only goes to show that on any given day any team in this league can beat any other team. That does not mean the other teams arent any good, just that apart from the top two, the other teams in the top half of the league are much of a muchness, but clearly we have the edge.

Seeing as we have kept 3rd or 4th spot consistently whilst other teams have slipped away I dont se how you can say we have been under presure, other than as McClaren has said to keep the good performances going.

So not nonsense at all really just FACTS!

I would much rather go into the playoffs as the under dog, if it goes wrong no one cares, but as the form team it could look more like a disaster.

Personally I believe it means nothing in the run up. We could beat teams 5 nil for the last 5 games, but one dodgy decision, or a freak injury to a key player and its all over. On our day we can beat any of the teams around us, but I thought we could beat Blackburn 20 years ago too!

I'm happy to just be in the playoffs! We haven't suffered the blow of missing out on automatic promotion as that went a couple of games ago. We are clearly coasting a little but maintaining victories, I'd say we are in as good a position as we can hope to be and no doubt McClaren and the coaching staff will pay no attention to what the bookies, pundits or anyone else says about favourites, its 3 cup games after all.

Whatever happens its been a great season and I look forward to the next with optimism, so

Talking to a couple of friends that are Wigan fans (and therefore a large chunk of their fanbase)

They are coming to the realisation that their team is running out of steam at the wrong time in the season.

They blame too many games, recent poor team selection and tactics, the loss of form of Nick Powell and that not having a real goal scorer in the team, has many Wigan fans thinking they may come up short this season and perhaps they are simply not good enough.

It appears that if Rosler does not set the team to defend in numbers and try and to hit teams on the break, then the team is not effective.

Furthermore, they think if a team can press their midfield they simply run out of ideas.

I think McClaren is very aware of Wigan's strengths and weaknesses.

The problem in our 1-0 home defeat was that we lacked some mobility and physical presence in the middle of the park that day.

This is sorted with the introduction and form of Thorne and Hendrick in the team. We now have some stee
