Biggest factor for me was the Labour Cooncillors parading about in designer suits and Beamers/Mercs ---------- says it all really.

Darren was an impressive individual. He had a great way with people, was a hard working business man and he seemed to be a devoted dad to his kids. He took this to the extreme when he used some of his compensation money to send his eldest daughter to private school.

I'm not being totally naive to goings on. No doubt to operate business in an area like Dalmarnock you'd need to have the right people behind you. Darren seems to float about like he can do what he likes so I'd imagine he's well connected in some way.
