[quote="AucklandRover"]I also agree with champs however I feel we as a team would benefit more reverting back to 4-5-1
Rhodes scores more from it(even if he looks lost for most of it)and with the option of a defensive midfielder adds stability to a fragile defence
I also fully agree with Dunn a crucial player ruined by 5 minute cameos start with or as you say a last 30 surge.
The youth who have returned really need to be utilised soon or lose real talent for nothing o Connell is a prime example rave reviews when he has gone out on loan is he seriously any worse than the couple of carthorses we usually play
When you look through our reserves there is massive hope in the future but if not used as you say for even for the 5 minutes here and there they will stagnate and disappear.
I will just add on the manager front even though most of us want bowyer to succeed but as

I understand what you are saying champs and after the shambles of kean and the multiple managers that followed stability is key
Bowyer has delivered a very stable ship however financially we need the golden pot of the premier league
I genuinely believe he cannot provide the extra gear to send us up
Performances have dropped from last season when they should be getting better considering the players have now "bed" in.
I would love a real club man in bowyer succeeding but purely from a financial point of view promotion is almost becoming a must and I just can't see it happening with bowyer.

What I don't understand about that argument, Robin, is that its logical conclusion is: 'Bowyer is a WORSE manager now than he was at the end of last season'. How does that work?
Anyway, I'm probably in danger of rehashing the "just how important is the manager" thread, so I'll stop there!
I'm off to the South Island this morning for two weeks. W

I am not sure he is any worse a manager I feel possibly teams have figured out how to play us and to counter that Gary has resorted to a more direct style of play
If your pulis or big Sam it tends to work not so much with our current crop of players.
I have been a massive preacher of fitness since Hughes our fitness levels have been considerably worse this could also play a factor in our up and down form.
Anyway have a blooming marvellous holiday aucks lay off the stats for a couple of weeks.
