not renewing the contract of is not quite the same as sacking.

the thing about Watford is that they've played well under about 5 managers this season so I'm not sure how much credit this fella can take.

Equally, not giving in to his demands in negotiation isn't quite the same as not renewing his contract.

He was offered terms, he wouldn't sign, so unless it was a large pay cut (I assume not) then it was his choice to leave.

It's all true though, he's available and if promotion to the PL is your aim, he's the last successful manager you had.

Sam Rush seemed to indicate the club will not be hasty to make a decision and have several candidates to consider. Radio Derby suggested that Clement,Dyche & Warburton could be those being considered. It may come down salary aspirations. Apparently Clement has quite high wage demands.

Paul Clement will be announced next week. The reason for the delay is, I believe he is still under contract to Real Madrid. It will be really interesting to see the ins & outs once he, or whoever takes over. The sooner the better so we can get some much needed new blood in the squad.

No club in their right mind would touch that poisonous Jock with a barge pole. True he got us up but it was a disaster and took years to stabilise and rectify the damage. Forest didn't learn from his first stint at the club and they appointed King Billy for a second time...developing a 'special' relationship from the Saviour Fawaz who I recall likened 'King Billy' to Alex Ferguson...it was pathetic. You stick to the managerial framework for which your clueless ownership has been accustomed too.

Arguably he's Forests most successful manager in an awful long time except the fact you've floated outside
