    re: Pringle speaking the truth on what we all think!!!

    The issue is that we should have offered Pringle a contract sooner, but, what evidence did we have that he was up to the Championship standard - none.

    People need to remember our finances. We are competing with teams that regularly get >25,000 gates every home game, the majority of which still have some premier league TV money sloshing around.

    To compete we have to shop at Aldi. We have to try most things and every now and then you unearth that cheap gem. But, we buy plenty of stuff that has you saying naah, not for me.

    Hence the high number of players signed. Typically we are signing players who have played at this level or higher but, for one reason or another have never kicked on.

    Just look at some examples, Martinez was 3rd in line at Arsenal and had points to prove about his capability, Hunt had just recovered from a nasty long term injury and needed to prove he could still perform at a decent level.
    Derbyshire has scored goals in European competition but seemed to have gone

    [quote="daveemiller"]Some of the comments found here and elsewhere on Pringle blow my mind. The lad gives an honest interview, stating certain home truths that many - probably most- on here have themselves stated many times over. Do people just want players, former or current, to regurgitate soundbites or actually show that perhaps they are allowed to have a personality.

    For some on here to lambast him as league 1 class, a guaranteed flop at Fulham and then say it is he who is bitter? Can you not see the irony in that? Are you that ****ing deluded?

    This happens pretty much every time a players leaves. We make them icons when they play for us, laud them as unsung, unfashionable heroes. The minute they depart they instantly become terrible players, bound to fail. It's pitiful.

    We should have offered Pringle a contract last year. We didn't. We should have offered Pringle and Morgan more attractive offers. We didn't/ couldn't. Steve Evans has got a serious

    I have always liked Ben Pringle, and was gutted after his good cameo apperance at Don Valley , then vanished.
    Since playing full time for us , he has been nothing but an asset. Always put in a shift, we would have been up the creek without him.

    I think we should change our to "THE STICKLEBACKS" because;

    a) Brin and I are both fishermen so I know he'd like it too,

    b ) I've caught some bleedin' huge sticklebacks in my time - especially in the Keadby Canal when I worrabaht 10!,

    c) On Springwatch Extra - "Simon the Stickleback" was it's biggest star and had an army of followers and even his own Twitter account so I think we'd get tons of positive publicity!

    d) We like to sh_it on w(L)eeds!

    e) We've got a red-breast - just like Simon!
