Do you remember my comments the other day about akpan should be in the team, as he offers a threat with his height arriving in the box?

Do you remember what you said?

    'Have you seen akpan play?'

    Ahem

Sorry, couldn't resist. But yes, it SEEMS to be coming together.

I do and I scoffed at them. He was superb tonight. I was very pleased to see it. One swallow doesn't make summer. But if he can maintain tonight's performance, then great and I'll rovoke the statement I made regarding my desire not to have to endure watching him again. A massively improved player tonight. Still not one to tackle. Get that in his game, and he'll be cooking on gas.

Saxo - you still seem to think that posts are about scoring points.
Lots of people are the same on the LET site.
Surely, it's about responding to what actually happens.
During that spell between the Rotherham game and the first Boro match, Lambert looked tactically at sea. That fact hasn't changed because he's getting it right now. And the fact that he looked clueless then doesn't mean he is now!
You don't have to take a position and then defend it, even in the face of all the evidence. I have no idea what PL thought he was doing during that bad period, but there is no doubt that it was poor managership!
My saying that doesn't mean I was calling for his head; he had to be given time. Everyone deserves that.
He has begun to turn things round and we should ALL be glad, but it's not about gloating.
It's the same with Rhodes. You simply cannot argue that he is a bad player. How can a bad player score all those goals? Yes, he is limited in his range, but that is not uncommon in natu

I'm half joking aucks. I think my knowledge is predictable really and most should be able to see what I'm seeing. I don't think I'm some kind of football guru, honest. Ask me to set up a team to get results, I wouldn't have a clue and I certainly am no leader.

HOWEVER, I CAN argue Rhodes is a poor player -he is- always was - but he's a top notch finisher - AT THIS LEVEL. If a team can afford to carry him, then fair enough. Not sure even boro can though going off the evidence so far.

So basically you come on here half joking to wind the board up ,glad we ve got that clear.

I thought Graham was fantastic last night, held the ball up really well BUT he was also helped by the fact the team turned in its best performance of the season. The team was up for it for once, into tackles early and actually passing the ball to each other.However...lets not forget that the next player after Graham for MOM was Steele.Boro had more than en

I never thought any of Rhodes's chances were clear cut personally.

So. Quite predictably , considering who started it , a topic titled "No I told you so`s" has turned into exactly I told you so !
However when the topic originator changes his mind as often as he does then we could all claim to be in the right just about all of the time .
Bowyer Out , maybe not , I may have got it wrong and now back the manager , no no Bowyer out.
Sell Rhodes , maybe not we might be better off with him , no no lets sell him .
Lambert is the saviour , maybe not and possibly we should have kept Bowyer , no no he is the saviour .
The list goes on and on .

Well at least there's no vile comments or foul mouthed abuse this time, nevertheless..

Just seen the result from last night !!!
I'm shocked - Steele saved/several clear chances ( inc Mr Rhodes).
PL's boys seem to have turned in a 'OK' performance, whatever next!
BFC apparently, so let's not get too carried away. It's just another game, just like last nights, then again maybe the boo boys will re- emerge again.
It's work in progress, as it always was.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could be absolutely right about every player and every game. Then again it wouldn't half be boring, and no need for forums.
