No Jamie redknapp on Monday night football tonight, does that mean he's in Derby going through the small print for his dad?
It kinda makes sense, its in a consultancy capacity until the end of the season to work alongside Wassall, at least there is some real management experience and as he wont be buying players or agreeing contracts he has minimal financial impact.
Whilst not ideal as it is clearly a move to give credibility (not least amongst the players) to Wassall, it is better than nothing and then I guess we see where we are at the end of the season - promoted (yes stranger things have happened) and as prem club we'd attract and be able to afford a better manager, still in the championship and we'd no doubt be after a more affordable option.
It's just an admittance that Wassall isn't up to it ....

I could wax lyrical in rhyming slang at this point but our northern brethren would not understand. Off to make myself a cob now...Originally Posted by roger_ramjet

It's a weird one, if Wassall isn't up to it just go and get a decent manager, why paper the cracks with a "has been". The only reason, and I hope it is the case, is that they have a in the wings but he isn't available till the summer. It wouldn't be a scenario unfamiliar to Derby...
Let's hope we can have a good old fashioned 'knees up' on Saturday!
