I would like to see DW retained as number 2 under a very experienced manager. You may all consider Steve McLaren a **** now but the Smith/McLaren tag team worked pretty well and that was similar

I find it just as inconceivable that Dyche would get Burnley promoted on a story of not being gifted with the funds that other clubs have and then come to one of the very clubs he harbours that resentment against.

Well firstly it wouldn't be a sacking, he was appointed as Interim Head Coach until the end of the season, now he might or might not want to be permanent Head Coach but he was appointed Interim on very clear terms and nothing was said or promises made about what happens IF the club got promoted. In fact he may well have been told that another manager was to be hired but wasn't available unti

I wouldn't be a fan of Martinez at Derby. What has he actually accomplished in his career? Wigan and Everton have both been left in worse positions than when he started.

Didn't Mark Warburton almost suffer this exact fate with Brentford last year. OK so they ddint win the playoffs but had they, and had they been promoted, he was still on his bike I think.

Not making a case for him and I haven't a clue who it could be but didn't Martinez take Swansea up? Keeping Wigan up there was no small achievement either. Not Frank be Boer anyway.

Shall we all draw a out of the hat, like an office Grand national sweep, and put a pound into the pot. Winner takes all. I have started and managed to pick Dieter Hecking. There: no-one has thrown his in the hat before, he is continental and well, just hand ove the money OK?

Blimey swale, I've seen some extrapolated thinking in my time but that extends further beyond plausible than Shergar riding down Ozzie Road on Lord Lucan (yes, that way round) with Elvis and Diana waltzing behind them.

I know Wassall either asked for, or accepted, help in Harry and I get your point that managing in the top flight might be too much for him, and he might even know it. But I still find it totally implausible that any club would fail to retain a manager, in some capacity or other, that has just got the club promoted and earned them a reputed £150m. I also think the manager would be nothing short of mad to let that happen (remember he might only be interim but is a full time employee, don't know his contract length)

As for Warburton, he quit on footballing differences, rumour being he was told he would have to work under a Director of Football who would manage all transfers. Can't say I blame him.
