When complete they will have the new F-35 stealth fighters on board which will have the most powerful engine ever installed in a jet fighter. So it will be interesting to hear the roar of those babies. I believe 35 to each carrier and Merlin choppers.
Hey Claw what line of work are you in now as I think you are away from the forces now.

I remember that loud bang of the so called Typhoon. I was at work late and searched the building as I thought either a full filing cabinet had fallen over or that a car had crashed into the building. My Walsall mates also heard it which is around 70 miles away.

Hi Buc, yes but while in the Marines got chatting to a bunch of oilmen in a Singapore bar, they said when you leave give our office in London a call. Which is what I did and managed to get a job as a roustabout, after that worked on the drillfloor ,then I was assigned as a motorman. I was then offered to train as a Barge engineer 3(apprentice ) for a few years, made it to a 2 and then a 1 which meant I was then in charge of the rig on moving operations as it was my job to operate all electro hydraulic systems..

Worked all over the world , and with the money bought myself a business.

Life is what you make it.

Buc, I am not one to blow my own trumpet, but if you google Royal Marine Commando's you will get some idea.

Quite a few Scots have served in the Marines with distinction. and there are 2 Commando's of about 700-800 men each based in Scotland, 45 in Arbroath, and 43 in Faslane.

What do they do in Arbroath and Faslane thought Arbroath was shutting down
