    First of all let's hope I don't have to move down to either area. Personally I don't think I will but if the unthinkable happens and I do I'm sure it will be fine. Have visited both areas many times and have never had any bother at all. I've had more bother up here, my crime, wearing a wrist band with no thanks written on it

    It isn't 'bother' - it is just irritating.
    Every single day of my 17 years in Nottingham I got some jibe or other about being Scottish. No big deal, but it wouldn't have been nice for a kid in school. Since moving to the south west 13 years ago the level is very much reduced... but the amount of fkn nob ends who think that the fried mars bar thing is still funny is quite incredible.
    As my boss is forever reminding me, the only place you find an ambitious Scot is in England...
    It isn't 'bother' - it is life for a Scot living in England. If you don't like it or you can't handle it there is always the road north...
