A manager like Allardyce would possibly be the fix that steadies the ship but I have the feeling Sam might want to shy away from the public eye for a while longer.

God knows what will happen next.
Words can be taken with a pinch of salt, action is what's needed. The new owners are just finding their feet, but they've also seen off two head coaches already in Jackett and Zenga. Changes are happening behind the scenes, a new club secretary on his way from Hull in January. It will take time that's for sure.

I don't think Big Sam will get as much media coverage as he would if he was taking charge of a premier league team. The interest will be there due to him being ex England manager and the surroundings over his departure.

When Walter was announced as manager I could hear the head scratching in Wolverhampton from here.
The next decision will prove whether Fosun have the club's best interests at stake.

    Anyone holding their breath?
I'm just hoping it's someone who can take the club forward, not another short-term appointment. I'm hoping for Big Sam, but expect Mendes to advise on one of his own clients, ie Marco Silva or Andre Villas-Boas.

The ironic thing about all this is the majority don't want a glamorous or worldwide known name.
A manager who "knows" this division, a manager who has experience of getting amongst the top six and has promotion pedigree.

    Get Mad Mick back

I don't doubt that Fosun want to succeed. The big problem is who are they taking their advice from? I can't believe that Mendes is an expert on English football and certainly not at Championship level.

Nigel Pearson has experience of taking a team up from this division, so does Mick, Warnock and Steve Bruce, it's a pity the latter is now at Villa.

I'm fine with a Big Sam. Or even a return of Mad Mick. I have no delusions that they are long term appointments for when/if we get to the Prem. But they could get us out of the division.

Former Belgium manager Marc Wilmots is now being linked to the vacancy, another one of Mendes' clients. We will see, so many names being touted around at the moment.

The one Guy I'd personally like to see given a real chance is the current caretaker, loves the club knows it inside out and is professionally highly thought of. Who knows he could be our 'Eddie Howe'
