Yup a yellow mk1 Ford escort estate, with a hole in the floor which let in water when it rained. Mind you it was a superb motor for "entertaining" young ladies as laying the seats flat gave you some room to manouvre!!

That's an Escort. My Mum and Dad's first car was a Mk1 Cortina. Had to push start it every bloody morning.
My mate's first car was a yellow Escort...you're not him are you Swale?

I was driving around in an Austin A30 with the finger post indicators. Then a Hillman Huskey before having Morris 1000 traveller for quite a few years. Oh I forgot the Mazda RX3 with the ****el engine.

My first 3 cars after passing my test in 88 were a mk1 escort Mexico then a mk2 Mexico and then a mk2 RS 2000 flat front, my brother who is 18 month older had a mk1 Mexico but his was an AVO, super rare now
