Well rightly or wrongly there is precedent for it. Christie won young player of the year last season. I would argue that Mclean given the circumstances is more of an Aberdeen player than him and has been our best player in a red shirt by a country mile this season.

Indeed, the whole thing about whether they are loan players or not is just an excuse for the whinges.
McLean has played all season for Aberdeen and in my opinion has been our best player. I’ve yet to see him pictured in a Norwich strip
Others may choose differently, that’s their right, but to harp on about selling him (when he was out of contract at the season end) and then retaining his services for the rest of the season was a fantastic piece of business and f all to do with him as a choice for POTY.
