    Did score any for us?

Anyone remember Adrian foster, scored against the dings and that was it, youth product if remember correctly.
According to my ‘Records’ he played 16 times (3 as Sub) and scored 3 goals.

From memory David Mills (Boro to Albion) was the first £500,000 player.

As for Peter Barnes his greatest 'crime' was that he wasn't Laurie Cunningham.

Although he could blow hot and cold Barnes was a decent player and scored a tidy amount for us from the wing.
My recollection from the time was that Barnes biggest crime was not being Willie Johnston.

Cunningham could play left or right side whereas Willie stuck to the left and so did Barnes in the main.

I thought Barnes was crap although this was coloured by the fact Willie was and still is my alltime favourite Albion player and indeed player from any club up to this point.....it made the ground electric when he picked up the ball.

The best player I’ve ever seen at taking on an opponent from a standing start and a wonderful crosser of the ball....allied to the fact it all REALLY mattered to him!

Barnes scored 23 in 69 games and Cunningham 21 in 84 so Barnes had a ratio that we’d kill for now yet I hated him!

Willie only scored 18 in 201 but to me it was what he did for the team that means he’ll always be my favourite.

Mark Angel and Graham Potter didn’t have the same effect.

I've seen Sawyers a few times for Brentford and he doesn't start a lot of games. He is a little lazy but worse his distribution is poor and I would not be overjoyed if he signed for us.

Seems like the ideal replacement for Livermore then.

I actually thought Joe Mayo was ok. He led the line and chipped in with a goal or two. I remember people who stood by me at games were always moaning about David Cross yet his goals per game ratio was good.

I thought David Cross was a good buy. Just looked it up and, as I thought, he scored 18 in 38 for us, and took us right up to a League challenging position. Unfortunately for him, we bought Cyrille soon afterwards, so DC became a bit part player.

Joe Mayo moving to Orient, allowed us to snap up Laurie Cunningham.

I see we might be in for Woods at Brentford. He really is a very tidy player and I'm surprised no Premier club has been in for him before now. Not the biggest lad but almost never gives the ball away and holds the play really well. Yes please.
