The thing that gets me Sinkov is the wage structure etc etc , there are ways and means to sort it so if they come they are on 35 k like the other top earners but they get a lump at the beginning when they sign, seems to me that’s what others do and just get the job done.
I don’t know the issues with Ben Mee but after watching last night we need to be getting him on an improved contract if that’s what he wants - solid performer and I think Tarky needs him to produce performances his self.
Same scenario contract at X payment initially evens out over 2/3 years etc to somewhere near what they want.

If Mee leaves how much do the Burnley "recruitment team" need to spend to replace him? Ball park £30 million? Makes no sense whatsoever not to pay the lad what he is worth, does it? He cost us half a million quid, like you say sinkov, FFS, just do it.

The problem is what he wants is often more than what he is worth BT and that is what all the shenanigans seem to be about. Do agents get a cut of wages as well as fee I wonder? They must put numbers in the players head.

Wages/salaries accounted for £55m of the £61m staff cost. We employed 188 people of whom around 160 weren't players, so they must account for £18m of the wage bill. To sum it up,

    Player wages £37m.
    Other staff wages £18m.
    Social Security costs £6m.
    Total staff costs £61m.

Sean saying player wages are £37m is interesting OC. I've never known a way before to tell how much of the staff costs, which are always quoted in the annual report, are player wages. There is a guide now, on Sean's figures player wages take up around 60% of staff costs. I don't see why that would change much in the future.
