I remember last season i was giving my opinion of Lundstram on here and and S2,all i got was grief and the - give him time b-oll-ocks.

He is a league one player at best, who only looks championship quality in flashes,he wanders about and just watches oppo midfielders stroll past him.

One time just one time yesterday he showed a bit of fight,he lost the ball near their penalty area and chased there defender in over boost mode and went flying into a tackle right infront of the dugouts he got applause for it,once a game is not good enough tho.

We have to get a gritty/flair blessed midfielder who is looking to go forward and be inventive, not do the safe sideways crap all the time.

If we dont we will be on the end of defeats not wins.

It was exactly like the second half of last season.

Shouldn't be going with that flat midfield 3, especially at home.

If Wilder thinks we can achieve something with the current wing backs he's kidding himself.

The lack of pace has gone beyond a joke.

Lundstram and Evans aren't top end Championship quality, nowhere near. Woodburn showed a lack of fight when he came in that I wasn't pleased with.

Our remaining signings will decide our season. As we are we're nothing more than mid table.

It should be said though that on that showing Swansea will be a good team this season.

We were average - no spark - like we were for the second half of last season. We need a Duffy or a Woodburn in the team to give us something different.

Agree re Fleck tho - he's going backwards at the moment - needs to push on again.

At least we don't have long to wait to put things right
I agree Fleck wasn’t at his best Aya but it had to be hard for him the way Lundstram in particular and Evans were playing and let’s not forget he was MOTM a week or so ago against Inter.

    Good morning,
A very rare poster here. I think I lot of what has been said is spot on. The reason in my opinion that out best player at the club was so ineffectual was he was played out on the left. This meant there was zero creativity in the midfield. Neither Lundstrum and Evans can, tackle or head a ball, which I always thought were prerequisites for a midfielder.
Barnsley away last season, Fleck was choose to play on the left hand side, Evans was subbed after 40 mins, it could quite easily have 20 mins. Lundstrum does what he always does and bottles any physical contact. The tackle he made against Inter was such, that he couldn't get out of the way.
Stevens who I like, has been awful for a long time, sorry. My man of the match yesterday was the goalie, I thought he was superb.

At Mansfield pre-season, Evans unbelievable got ninety minutes, Lundstrum came off after 70 mins and Leonard came on. I know a lot don't rate him on here, but he made more tackles than Lundstrum and Evans combined.

Finally (thank God I hear you say) our forward line is unbelievably slow, Sharp is the quickest. Leon is not on his game right now, I think he only won a couple of headers. Surely that's his bread and butter.
Summing up, I think our Chris missed a trick yesterday, you can't play the clubs best player by a country mile, on the left and leave the midfield to two very, very ordinary players (notice I didn't say footballers) our left back/left wing back needs addressing urgently as does the forward line. Duffy is the only man in the team who can actually take a man on, he's our only spark of positivity.

Imagine being Fleck yesterday watching those two numpties running around like headless chickens (Evans got 90 mins again) incapable of going forward, not having the intelligence to play a killer ball, but above all, neither could tackle a Sunday dinner.
Look at it this way, we're only 3 points behind the league leaders.
    Up the Blades.

We would have won by 2 or 3 if we had put Duffy on just after our goal (and not sat back until they scored within 10 minutes!).

Enda is the weak link when a team attacks us....they all spot that we are weakest on our left.

And another thing...stop laughing at Wendy....ever time we go overboard on here we get a kick in the teeth

    Fed up

Good post mate, I agree with all of that, you should post more. I would just say that that Woodburn has a bit of pace and likes to take people on.

Having slept on it, most of the team seemed to b a bit nervous or lethargic. We weren’t BAD by any means but nobody seemed to have the confidence the really take it to them, Billy showed more than most when he came on. We seemed to lump it far more than normal and the passing wasn’t crisp, too many lobbed balls even for shorter passes that turned into 50/50’s. A good result at Boro will change everybody’s mood fans and players alike. We usually get robbed up there and they managed to rescue the game at the death yesterday after being 2-0 down for most of it so they’ll be on a high.

Let’s not forget though that many of us wrote the team and players off two years ago when we were bottom after 5 game and finished up as Champions with 100 points, so our comments after are just observations and concerns. We’d be daft to right anybody off right now and Chris will know more than anybody what’s needed. I just hope that Fleck and Jack are part of whatever team he sends out.

Interesting comments about Leonard. Didn't go to Mansfield but there were times in the second half yesterday that we needed someone in midfield to break up their counter attacks. I would bring Leonard in midfield against the smoggies along with Duffy for the two invisible men who played there yesterday.

surely leonard should be given a chance now thats the idea behind having 2 for every position if you dont perform somebody else gets a chance and after what swansea did to nulify our wing backs and on sky live i think it might be time for a rethink on the 3 5 2 set up the wing backs are such a big part of our set up but teams are setting up to stop us now not saying ditch it altogether but i do think we have to consider going to a flat back 4 especially in away games but we definetly need some pace in the team were woefully short of it

I’d have brought Leonard on yesterday to shake the beggars up. Wilder said last week he’d have a big part to play.
